THIRD PERSON POV

Marcy and Anne were watching a movie in Anne's room, the muffled noise of Anne's mom talking to herself and a purring Domino playing soothingly in the background.

Marcy took a quick glance out the window after opening the blinds and back at Anne.

"Hey Anne?" Marcy turned to her.

"Hm?" Anne took her eyes off the movie and onto Marcy.

"Should we go outside? It's sunset.". She questioned.

"Anne sat up and took the blanket off her. "Yeah! Let's go!"

She stepped off the bed, putting on her yellow Converses, grabbing a white cardigan off the coat hanger and pausing the movie.

Marcy silently took Domino off her lap before putting on her shoes and following Anne out the room.

They walked down the stairs, hand in hand, hearing a faint meow of annoyance from Domino, making Anne giggle.

"We're just going outside for a bit." Anne let go of Marcy's hand and waved to her mom.

"Okay, but don't come late!" Mrs. Boonchuy replied.

"We won't!" Marcy responded and closed the front door behind them.

Anne stepped onto the driveway and took two fold-up chairs leaning on the garage and put them side-by-side at the highest point.

They both admired the sunset, it looked like a painting with all the splashes of yellow, pink, purple and orange.

"I'm surprised she let us out this late." Marcy said, tapping her wristwatch. 6:10PM.

"Eh, it's not that late."

A few minutes later they heard a small flap from the door. Anne walked over and picked up a black cat.

"Clearly she was mad at you for leaving her." She remarked.

Marcy laughed and let Domino climb onto her and fall asleep.

"I swear she likes you more than me." Anne continued.

"What, are you jealous?" Marcy boasted, rubbing the top of Domino's head.

"Wasn't that obvious?"

The sun was still in the same position, and it would probably take about fifteen minutes for it to properly set.

"Hey, should we go up that hill? Maybe there's a better view." Marcy asked cheerfully.

"As long as Domino isn't mad at you for it!" Anne exclaimed.

Marcy scooped Domino up from her lap and into her arms, almost tripping on her shoelace on the way down the driveway.

They walked to a point where the road turned, splitting the footpath two ways. They took the short way up the hill and sat down on the small cliff before the path got steep.

Marcy rested her head on Anne's shoulder, peacefully watching the light breeze flick the grass around where the sunset was visible.

They sat there for about ten minutes, before they heard Anne's dad pull up in front of the chairs, calling them over.

"Mars, we gotta go, I think Dad wants to show us something he found at work.

Marcy reluctantly got up, half-asleep.

They ran down the footpath, and Mr. Boonchuy greeted them and showed them two necklaces- They both had silky black strands, but one had a blue gem, another had a green one.

"I found these on sale out the way of work," he explained. "I got them because they reminded me of you two!" He smiled.

Both Anne and Marcy gladly took them and hugged Mr. Boonchuy. "Thanks!" They said in unison and smiled.

Marcy tied the blue one around her neck with Anne's help, and Anne got hers on without any issue, tracing the green gem with her finger. Marcy opened the door with her free hand, and let Domino onto her bed with the other.

"He probably meant the colors to be switched," Marcy whispered, walking in the door. Anne laughed, but shrugged it off. "It's fine."

They walked back upstairs, continuing the movie and falling asleep soon after.
