You would never believe me if I said I'm a vampire, but it's true and I can prove it. My name is Edward and I have lived for over 300 years. I have seen wars, plagues and the rise and fall of empires. But I'm telling you this because something strange is happening and I can't explain it. You must know because I must flee for my own safety and yours....
It all started a month ago when I received an anonymous letter in the mail. It was a simple message, written on a piece of paper with bloody red ink, and it said, "I know what you are. Meet me at the abandoned church at midnight." I was skeptical at first, but something in the message scared me. So I decided to investigate. I went to the church, which was on the outskirts of town. It was an old, dilapidated building and the surroundings were dark and ominous.
As I approached the church, I saw a figure standing in the shadows. It was a woman, dressed in black and her face was hidden under a hood. I sensed she was afraid, but I didn't understand why. "I know who you are," she said, her voice barely higher than a whisper. "And I know what you did." I was surprised by her words. "What do you mean?" I asked. "You killed innocent people," she said. "And now you're going to pay for it."
I was confused. I had never killed anyone before. I was a vampire, but I had always lived by a code. I never took more blood than necessary, and I never hurt anyone who didn't deserve it. But the woman didn't believe me. She pulled out a knife and attacked me. I managed to dodge her attack, and in the fight her hood fell back, revealing her face.
It was the face of a woman I had killed more than 100 years ago. She was a vampire, like me, but she had gone mad with bloodlust. I had no choice but to end her life, but I thought I would never see her again. "You're dead," I said, backing away. "I killed you." "I never really died," she said, her eyes full of hate. "I was waiting for the right moment to come back and take revenge."
Finally, I found refuge in an alley. I waited there, silently, hoping she would give up. In case she attacked me again, I grabbed a branch and turned it into a wooden stake. Give up? She certainly didn't. She found me and attacked again. It was a bloody fight but this time I was ready for her. I fought back with all the strength I had, I grabbed the wooden stake and stabbed it straight into her heart. Her last words were "just wait, they will come for you.
As I stood there and caught my breath, I realized what she meant by that. This woman was not the only one who wanted revenge on me! There were others out there, waiting in the shadows, biding their time. And I had no idea who they were or when they would strike. A fight with a large group of vampires? You certainly don't want that. Fleeing. Yes flee, that's my only option. The thought of endangering you, myself and the environment hurts me too much. It's much better if I go, I'm sorry. Take care of yourself and be happy, I feel that and that's going to help me. I am very sorry I didn't tell you sooner that I am a vampire.... Sorry I really have to go now. (By the time you read this I will already be on the other side of the world).
Love you, Edward x
