"Prince Gumball! You came!" Fionna exclaimed, the human girl had invited the candy Prince over for a hang out. "Hello Fionna, and hello Cake, I baked these for you both." Gumball always came prepared with a fresh tray of baked goods, red velvet cake. "Oohh it looks so good!" Fionna loved everything he baked, Fionna was not much of a baker herself. Nor a cook, or like anything involving food in general. Cake was usually in charge of that, flapjacks, bacon pancakes or a perfect sandwich was Cake's speciality. "Have as much as you two like! It's for you after all." "Oh sweet cheeks you are so dang thoughtful! I'm gonna get into this.."

A slice of the red cake starts floating upward in midair, "Whoa! What did you put in these, PG?!" Gumball looks confused and worried, "What? I- just the regular ingredients, flour, eggs, milk--" the red from the cake starts to disappear, like it's getting sucked out, only leaving a grey mushy sad looking slice that falls flat onto the ground, splat!

"Huh...oh- yeah figures." Gumball rolls his eyes suddenly realising what was actually going on, lo and behold- Marshall Lee the Vampire King makes his appearance, no longer invisible.

"Marshall Lee!" "Paste-Face!!" " Ugh ." Ah yes, the three emotions. "Hey. Nice cake, Gumwad. Did you make it red velvet just for meee ?" Marshall's patronizing tone was like nails on a chalkboard for Gumball. He'd heard it a million times, and it never got less annoying. Doesn't help they're both ancient and he might have to endure such a nuisance for more than he'd like to admit. "No, Marshall Lee, I did not make a red velvet cake for you. It's for Fionna and Cake." "Aw c'mon, Marshall can have some! If it's my cake then I want him to!" Fionna chirped, she was always so nice but so easily swayed. "Man! Waste of a darn delicious cake! And who's gonna clean that mess up exactly, huh, Paste Face?" Cake huffs, at least Cake is on Gumball's side when it comes to the vampire. She never liked em, thought they were scary. "Lighten up, Cake! It's just a bit of mess, I'll swoop it up and it's all clean!" Fionna grabbed a paper towel and swooped up the fallen grey cake slice. "So, Marshall, I didn't realise you were here!" She says while throwing the trash out the window, do they not have a bin or something.

"What, you and Prince get to hang out without inviting me? Oh! Fionna! You're breaking my pooor heart over here!" Marshall dramatically exaggerated, which put Fionna into a giggle. "Hehe, sorry Marshall! Didn't think you'd want to!" She shrugs, Cake nipping a piece of Fionna's cake while she isn't looking. "Nah, always. I'd never pass up the opportunity to hang. No matter when, where or who- I'll stop by." Gumball thinks about that for a moment, 'no matter when, where or who' he recalls how Marshall, despite their rocky relationship, always shows up to Gumball's events. The Biennial Gumball Ball, the Masquerade party, even his birthday. He came to pretty much all of them, Butterscotch Butler had warned Gumball to stop inviting him after he'd ruined the pastries he was baking for Fionna, or that time he sucked the pink out of his hair. But he always felt this sort of obligation to invite him, like a part of him just felt wrong not to. He was liked by a lot of people and his guests always raved on about how they loved his music and his charm- Gumball always thought that Marshall Lee wouldn't show up. Each time he sent a mass invite, he thought "He's not gonna show up, why worry?" But in the end, he does.

A hard flick against his forehead jolts him back to reality "Yo, haha, Barney alwaaays thinking with that big brain of his. You didn't even notice I sucked the pink out of your hair." Gumball's eyes widen as he pulls out a pink hand mirror to look at himself, "Hahaha! Dude I was kidding, I'm just messing with you. Chillax." Fionna tries to stifle her laughter, as Marshall nudges her, grinning. Augh , it wasn't fair. Fionna, despite Marshall being a giant tool, always sort of liked him better. Gumball was nice but Marshall was fun. Gumball was too serious, Marshall knew how to relax. Glob, it sucked! "Well, Fionna, Cake, Marshall Lee, what is first on our agenda for tonight?" Fionna thinks for a second, her eyebrows knitted and her eyes squint, tapping at her chin. "What about playing video games on BMO!" Fionna's eyes sparkled with excitement, "Yeah that sounds great but- oh-" Marshall floats behind Gumball, "Gumball doesn't like video games, remember?" Marshall looked so smug in that moment, Fionna and Cake give a 'Aw…' sound in disappointment "That's not-! Well, true...but I don't mind watching you guys play." The hero duo shrug, why not?
