Chapter 7: Slowing Things Down

The next morning I wake up, feeling an absence of warmness in my bed. After opening my eyes, I grab my phone off my nightstand. Once I unlock it, I notice that I received a text message from an unknown contact. Upon opening it, I easily realized who the sender was.

"hey Y/N!!! I like really enjoyed last night. hope to see u again soon. sorry I had to run (hehe get it) this morining. I had plans with kurt about like geting breakfast or whatever down at micks, he said hes paying and i couldnt turn down an offer of FREE FOOD man. he said later we gonna go shopping for records since he's into that hipster junk. anyways hope to see you soon nerd - pete"

Y/N - "Weird, I don't remember giving him my number."

After that, the day carried on normal. I went to my classes like any other day, gossiping with my friends and whatnot. I didn't see Mr. Wade today so I guess he quit, he had been talking about that for a while now. Things continued being boring as every other day. I say with my friends Phillip, Kriss, Jade, and Gwen like every day. Phillip was talking about how he was relieved now that we had our old english teacher back. He had been struggling in it ever since Miss Jean took over, but now that Mr. Logan's back, he's doing better already in the span of less than two days.

P - "I swear Miss Jean had a grudge on me or something. She *hated* me, man."

Phillip was one of my few friends that I had known since I started my education here, he and I had been good friends for a while now, along with Kriss, another buddy of mine. Phillip often talked a lot, and Kriss usually was very quiet. Their mutations were that Phillip could manipulate fire and Kriss could communicate with animals. Jade and Gwen are close friends that were brought to America from Poland a few years bacm. Kriss actually spent a lot of time learning different languages, so he befriended them, and as they learned more english and improved at it, they kind of just fit into our friend group. Jade's mutation is that anything she draws she can give life. The only problem is, her creations get destroyed very easily, like an actual drawing, they tear with the littlest bit of force. Gwen is an entirely different story. She has these jagged teeth, dark purple eyes, and large, bat-like wings, as well as pale white skin. She usually dresses more goth-like and kind of looks like a vampire. Professor X had to get clothes made specially for her with holes for her wings.

G - "I think it's pretty funny that Mr. Logan is our english teacher even though he talks the least of all teachers."

P - "Yeah, that's why his class is easy."

After gossiping and chatting with the group for some time, the bell rings and  I head to my arithmetic class with Gwen. We sat beside each other and whispered for a bit, before Mrs. Scarlett told me Professor Xavier wanted me to report to his office. Once I got there, I sat in Mr. Hank's secretary waiting room thing. After about almost 10 minutes of waiting, I was told to enter Professor Xavier's actual office. I entered anxiously. The professor had a warm smile on his face. I looked over, seeing Peter in a chair beside mine as he waved to me with a single gesture.

My heart sank.
