Notes: Frisk is AFAB and is genderfluid, also AroAce. So their pronouns will be switched from time to time. Chara still goes by they/them however.
Tw: Death by childbirth. Implied suicide.
Frisk held her belly as she turned to Chara. "Chara-" She said before being cut off. "I know, but there's still a 55 percent that the baby won't make it. And with you dying when the day comes-" "Then there will no war between the monsters and the humans." Frisk reminded them. Chara lips trembled. "But you won't reset anymore." They argue, tears filling their voice. Frisk pauses, then gently rubs his belly. "I think I had enough resets for a lifetime." He replied. Chara float in front of Frisk to listen the baby. "How about a compromise? I'll save a minute after she's born and she can have the rest of the resets." Frisk suggests. Chara gently nodded before floating next the Frisk's shoulder. "It feels like only yesterday when we 1st met." They commented. Frisk nods. "Yeah. It did feel like only yesterday." The two sat there reminiscing about what they lost, what they got, and all the things they gained together.
Frisk got up from his chair to walked to his desk. Just because he sealed all the monsters underground doesn't mean that he has no more paperwork. After a while he grew tired and decided to take a midday nap. He dreams about being a kid again. A life before the monsters until suddenly it was raining blood. Then the pain came. When he woke up he realized why he could barely breathe. His breath was coming out in gasps. He unveils the covers and realized, he's in labor. "Chara! Grab my phone!" He yelled. Chara grabbed it as fast as they can and Frisk diled the doctors. Because Frisk has his own personal doctors, they came quickly with all the supplies. Chara forces themself to watch knowing there's nothing they could do for Frisk. Chara watched, helpless, as Frisk bleed, scream, cry... The last time they felt so helpless... It hurt, so much. But they didn't want to leave Frisk, they needed him. "Frisk! Please! Stay Awake!" Chara called, shaking him. Suddenly, Frisk began screaming in agony. Chara held his hand. "Please don't die. I need you..." They whispered. "You were always here for me. Always." Frisk tried to squeeze their hand, but couldn't, the contractions too strong.
"Hey, Chara?" He managed to say. "Yeah?" They replied. "Please, take care of her.." He ordered. Chara can feel their soul attached to the newborn as Frisk closes his eyes. To many, this is Frisk's death, but to Chara, this is his final reset. Chara didn't shed a tear as Frisk sat up, clearly in pain. "..She's yours to watch over now." He said. Frisk then chuckles. "We might need to check her STATS." He said. Chara nodded in agreement and they both learn that the newborn has PERSEVERANCE instead of DETERMINATION. "So, what are you going to name her, Frisk?" Chara asked. "I've decided Fir." He replied. Chara nodded. "Are the monsters going to know about her?" They asked. "No, As a matter of fact I don't want them anywhere near her." He replied. Chara kept quiet. Frisk stroke his daughter's cheek, remembering what his monster family did to him. He won't let it happen to her. "The barrier will remain close until the monsters are nothing, but a part of history." He ordered. Chara stay silent, remembering Frisk's ultimate betrayal against the monsters. They can still recall the shocked faces as Frisk created the new barrier.
"Chara," Frisk spoke. Chara turns to Frisk. "It was for everyone's sake. As well the humans' punishment." He reminded them. Chara agrees. Fir should only view them as stories.
