jay finished buttoning his white dress shirt, putting on a black blazer. he stood in-front of the body length mirror in his room, tugging on his blazer softly.
he took out a pair of sunglasses, sliding them on. 'let's do this.' , he said quietly to himself.
before all the playboy stunts he had pulled, their family had a personal driver that would be at their service whenever. jay had lost that privilege not that long ago, after his father saw his behaviour.
jay walked out of his apartment complex to see a black suv parked outside. 'mr.park.' , he said with a soft smile across his face. 'my name is warren, i'm your personal driver, as of now.' , the man looked fairly young, dark hair, around 5'10, he had a mature aura.
jay nodded his head, warren opened the car door for him. jay sat down, he looked for a mirror in the car, adjusting a few strands of his hair.
jay felt slightly uneasy about this. this was all familiar to him, since he grew up in this environment and lifestyle, but it was difficult for him to go back into the public eye after months.
maybe he'll get used to it. or maybe not
he looked out the window, watching the busy streets of seoul, as they drove by. seoul was a hustle and bustle city, jay truly loved big cities as such, he could never imagine himself else where.
warren looked at his mirror, glancing at jay. 'we're near the main building sir.' , he stated, looking back at the road. 'there's no need for the formalities, jay is just fine.' , warren let out a breathy chuckle.
'mrs.park mentioned that you might say that. she insisted on me calling you sir.' , jay leant back into the seat, folding his arms.
'we've arrived sir.' , warren gave a playful smile. he stopped himself remembering one thing. 'sir there's going to be paparazzi, so just a fair warning.' jay nodded his head, trying to mentally prepare himself for what's to come.
warren got out of the car, opening the door for jay. he was welcomed by flashing lights, screams, cameras. the amount of people screaming at him was overwhelming.
jay looked straight ahead, trying to ignore the chaos around him, although it was difficult with people screaming his name.
warren kept a hand on jay's back, guiding him to the building. they left the screaming paparazzi, entering the main building.
it had been a very long time, since jay had come anywhere near st.luis. he couldn't help but feel slightly overwhelmed with everything.
jay wasn't the type to get frazzled by things easily, he was quite good under a lot of pressure. as to why he suddenly felt anxious, it confused the man himself.
'mr.park, you've arrived.' , jay looked at the man walking towards him. he put his right hand out, offering a handshake to jay.
jay took his hand, shaking it firmly.
'i'm jake, your personal assistant. mr.park has requested for you to meet with him in his office.' jay turned to warren.
'i'll collect you at 4:30pm sir, if you need me before then, please don't hesitate to call.' , he gave a small smile, before leaving the building.
'if you'll follow me this way.' jake guided jay towards an elevator. jay glanced at him every now and then, analysing him.
this was something jay often did without realising. he's a very cautious person, he takes care in who he surrounds himself with.
jake had black wavy hair, 5'9 give or take, he clung onto his iPad in his left hand. he seemed to present himself quite well. at first glance he seemed to be a professional man, but we all know there's more to a person than meets the eye.
they entered the elevator, standing on opposite ends. jake pressed a button with the number '25'.
'how long have you been working here?' , jay asked, breaking the silence. he stood with his hands in his pockets, still having his sunglasses on.
'3 years and a half sir.' , jay nodded his head, once again, leaving the two in silence.
he looked down at his iPad, typing something up. 'there isn't much on your schedule today, all there really is, is meeting your father and settling in to the office.'
a ding sound came from the elevator, indicating they had arrived to the 25th floor.
a few people stopped their work, just to look and whisper. jay continued walking, not fazed. they walked down the long hallway, passing by offices and workers.
jake stoped in-front of a black door with the name 'Mr. J Park' engraved on a gold plaque. he knocked, waiting for an answer.
the door was opened by a young woman. 'hey babe.' , jake leaned forward, attempting to peck her cheek. she placed a hand on his chest, quickly stopping him.
'no jake we're at work.' , she cleared her throat, looking back at jay. 'mr.park, it's good to finally meet you,' , jay took his sunglasses off, taking a better look at her. she put a hand out, offering for a handshake.
jay shook her hand gently, lifting his chin up a bit, examining her face with a quirked brow and a small, ever so subtle, smirk on his face.
this woman... she's just a common secretary, but he has to admit, she's peaking his interest. her sophisticated demeanor, her serious face... he knew he had a very intelligent and strong individual before him, a woman with a vision.
she stared back at him, raising a questioning brow. she can't quite decipher the look on his face, but it's like he's checking her out, gaze piercing through her.
'if you'll just come in, mr.park is expecting you.' , she smiled, moving to the side, allowing jay to walk in.
james lifted his head up from the paperwork in-front of him. his eyes met with jay in a neat suit with a fresh haircut, a smirk cracked on his lips.
'well son, you clean up nice don't you.' , it took everything in jay to not roll his eyes, or say a snarky comment, in response.
jay hated the sly remakes his father made, it enraged him. knowing that he can't say anything back to him, only angered him more.
jake closed the door, standing beside the young woman. james glanced back at them, he stood up, walking in-font of his desk.
'i want you to meet my secretary, hwang y/n.', jay looked back at her with the same subtle smirk. y/n nodded her head, looking away.
'i'll have jake show you around and get you through your schedule.' , he turned around, snapping his fingers, jay narrowed his eyes, feeling disgusted at his fathers arrogant behaviour.
although, jay does get it from somewhere.
jake stepped forward, beside jay. he put out his arm, towards the door, indicating for jay to exit the room. he rolled his eyes, putting his sunglasses back on, turning towards the door.
'oh and jay! one more thing,' , james placed a hand on jay's shoulder firmly, leaning down towards his ear.
'don't fuck up.'
he said lowly, to jay. jay shrugged him off, walking forward.
his eyes met with y/n, that same smirk he greeted her with, still stuck on his face.
