Eddie POV

i woke up with a terrible headache. i'd gotten drunk last night, but it wasn't because of any parties. i just laid down on my couch, downing cheap coke that was mixed with even cheaper rum.
work was..well, work was a bitch. although i don't regret those sleepless nights i endured planning out and working hard for my company, i regret never thinking about what i'd do when i finally got everything i wanted.
sure, i've got money, a big house, friends,—hell i might as well own a yacht. but i don't have anyone to share it with. there's no one i can sit down with, them listening to me ramble on about something stupid, there's no one i can hold at night.
i don't even wake up to anyone in the house. my friends never come over, i've got no other family than the ones in mexico, and i could never have a pet, always being gone during the day.
despite it, i still got up. i didn't bother making anything for breakfast, it's 5 AM. i'm already running late.
as soon as the elevator doors opened up to the big office, my humble front-desk manager gabby greeted me with a big smile. god, i love how somehow she's always bright and cheery at the crack of dawn, and i also love how sweet she is to me although i'm always a miserable asshole.
well, at least that's what everybody thinks. i overhear tons of my employees—standing right outside my door—talking shit about me saying how angry i am all the time. i can't even disagree.
before i got in the second elevator to my office though, i stopped at gabby's desk.
"what's that thing you were saying yesterday? something about an 'organizer?" i asked.
"oh! yes, an assistant. that way you don't always have to stop at dunkin everyday before work! they'll save time."
"thank you. is it possible to set out an ad for that?"
"yes of course, sir. usually their pay is set to be around 30 dollars an hour."
"no, no, set it to..- wait, how much are you paid?" i hesitated.
"35 dollars an hour."
"alright then, 30's perfect."
the next thing i know i headed up to my lonely office. my lights were brighter than usual, it seemed. i strained my eyes just to see on my even more bright computer.
i was shocked at the amount of emails i had, only in one night. i had no idea how i was supposed to sort this all.
my hand searched for my usual coffee, only to realize i didn't have any.
i'm gonna need an assistant, like now.

Juicy POV

at 7 AM, my alarm woke me up. i was bewildered seeing all of the text grant sent me.

3:54 AM
Grant (Red White and Blue): BRO GARGE

Grant (Red White and Blue): GAEGE JOSH SAID HE HAS A JOB FOR YOU

Grant (Red White and Blue): WAKE UPPPPP

Grant (Red White and Blue): JUDT LOOK UP EDDIE ENGENERRING

Grant (Red White and Blue): NOT ENGNERRING ENGINEERING

jesus christ. why the fuck was he up at 4 AM last night? i thought he didn't have a lot of other friends. though, he was right about the job. i don't know what the hell "eddie's engineering" is, but i just need money, and i need it fast.
when i looked it up in google, it said it was hiring for an assistant. i don't know why anyone would want to work for a rich asshole taking orders all day, my anger issues would 100% get me fired.

7:12 AM
Me: hell no i thought he was an asshole or smth

Me: you didn't tell me it was a stupid assistant job. do you even know me?

no answer. he's probably passed out on his couch right now. i know i'm not exactly in the right place to be picky about what job i get, especially since i'm pretty much on the verge of getting kicked out, but still. my rent was due literally 2 weeks ago, the only reason i'm still waking up in this god-forsaken place is because i keep saying i'm getting a paycheck "very soon."
grant always says i can always live with him if worst comes to worst, but i just don't think i could do that to him. i feel like it'd just be like a child getting babysat all the time. i'm stupid, but i don't like being thought of as a little kid.
besides, if we ever argued it'd be so weird having to wake up and eat breakfast with him, angrily. it's better with me just living alone.
my phone rings, josh calling me.
"yo, dude! why'd you reject that job thing i suggested? this boss gives like mad pay!"
"it's so obvious," i scoffed, "that me and that assholes anger issues would not work together! i'd get fired within a week."
"come on, i know this guy. yeah, he's a little bitchy, but you know you need the pay, you're a broke ass bitch."
"i don't do well with orders.." i muttered under my breath.
"well then you better learn if you ever want to get a job. the interview is tomorrow, that is if your rent extends to any longer than 2 weeks ago."
"oh fuck you!" i spat into the phone, though i knew he was right.
i'm really going to need to suck it up, like now.
