"I have a signal, but no one's answering," Kim complained to her friends. Kim Harrison was a seventeen-year-old NASA student who lived in Washington D.C. She and her friends Ashley Jones, Matt Kimak and James Kahn were up at NASA's space station for five days. Being a NASA student, Kim was allowed to invite three friends along on the trip she was taking for one of her classes.

"I didn't get an answer from any of my family. Neither did Matt," Ashley reported to no one. The ship did have decent cell service and the teens had been able to reach their parents throughout the past two days. However, James believed it wasn't working. Being the valedictorian that he was, he was trying to rewire the station's cell service and get a signal.

"James, you have to face it," Matt said, "the signal is fine."

"Well then can you explain why no one in any of our families is answering?" James snapped.

"Maybe their signal is down, or they're all just really busy," Matt guessed. He hadn't realized how strange the situation was. At least one of their parents should have their phone.

Kim tried reasoning with the boys. "Come on guys," she said. "Something is obviously wrong. I can't even get a hold of NASA headquarters or any other NASA station. Lets just take the rocket back down."

"Not to be rude, but have you even flown a rocket without NASA before?" Ashley asked.

"No. But seriously, how hard can it be?" Kim replied.

"Then lets get packing," James suggested, clearly ending the conversation.
