*Recap*
Moresrid
You have gone; I packed you an extra pack of bandages and supplies in the back space of your tent." I said it in a clam tone. which he moved out of the range of the communication device he was using. "Just what we have needed; thank you again, Moresrid." I smile, trying to conceal my true feelings. "After everything you have done for me and for us, that was the least I could have done." I say that my confidence is faltering ever so quickly. "Is everything okay?" He asks, causing me to smile. "I am just worried for us all; if this does not work and things go wrong, then the loss..." I hear a sigh, causing me to halt. "It's ok to be scared. I know we may lose some people on the journey, but they will live once we sort the past out." He says it in a clam tone, almost contradicting the face he himself was pulling. "How about you get some rest, and we can talk again in the morning?" He suggested it, causing me to nod my head. "Goodnight Moresrid." I nod my head. "A very goodnight to you, Kolvian, and please... stay safe."
*Chapter 1: Start*
Kolvian
After hanging up the transmission, I walk over to my tent.
I knew that what we were doing would have consequences. I know the details, but what would it do to everyone else? They all think we are saving the universe.
We are, of course, but for a loss far greater than we could ever have imagined. It may not look like it due to the large loss that was caused by the war, but to us, it's a loss we will never be prepared for. I know I should inform everyone of the loss after changing history, but I cannot bring myself to do such a thing.
Walking towards my bag, I change into clothes more suitable for sleep and turn in for the night.
*Next day*
Marice - Keith
I snuggle closer to the warmth that is next to me before opening my eyes. "Monin" I hear from next to me. "Ant! You otay?" (Antor/Lance! (Are you okay?) I ask him. He nods his head before rubbing his eyes. "Hungey" (hungry), he says a moment later.
As if on que, my tummy rumbled, causing him to giggle. "ou too!" (You too!) he shouts before calling for his mummy.
"How is my perfect little price this morning?" I hear someone say: Looking up to see who it was, I saw it was my mummy. "Mmmm, an hungwy..." (Mmmmm, I'm hungry) I said quietly while reaching out for her. "Aww, is my little one hungry? How about you, Antor? Are you hungry too?" She asks. Looking at him as he nods his head.
Bending over, she picks us both up and walks out of the room. "Good morning guys, how are you?" I hear Alanea (character from the comp) ask us. I look over to her and nod my head while snuggling into my mum. "He's a little shy this morning, by the looks of things. How about you Antor?" She asks again. I look over to Antor this time and reach out to him as he answers in a happy tone, "M'kay," whilst reaching out to meet my hands as we settle our eyes again in front of us to see that we had made it to the cantine.
"What would you boys want for breakfast today, hmmm?" Mum asks in a childish tone. Honestly, I can't really be mad because, after all, we are now children.
I look over the choices today and see that it's either porridge (or what looks like porridge) or toast that is made with the bread that Hunk made a couple of years ago. I couldn't decide because, again, this morning, my hunger had gone just as fast as it had come, so I asked my mum to decide. "Toas!!" I hear Antor shout. "How about some oats, hun? We have some of that stuff that Hunk made—what did he call it? honey?" Mum asks in a soft tone. As she begins to place both me and Antor into the seats that came out of the walls, They look like highchairs, but I'm not really in the mood to argue or even look at them, to be honest.
I place my head down on the inbuilt tray as I look out of the window into the stars. "Beautiful, isn't it?" I hear a voice speak above me. I don't know who, because I didn't lift my head, so I just shrugged my shoulders and kept quiet. "Not in the mood to talk, little one?" I hear the voice again before I shrug again, this time closing my eyes. "He doesn't seem to be in a good mood this morning; however, he was very happy when he opened his eyes. So I'm not sure what's wrong." I hear my mum having a conversation above me, and she tries to lift my head to place my breakfast down. "It's ok; sometimes young ones just need a little time to themselves. I should know my allana definitely needs time in the morning to gather herself some times; otherwise, she just lashes out or just cries, and let's just say for a 12 deca-phoeb old (year) child she has a set of claws on her." The voice says it loudly, with a couple laughs.
The voice was too loud as I tried to cover my sensitive ears. Sometimes I just wake up and have sensitive ears; who can blame me? I'm just a baby. "Ahhh, sorry, was I too loud?" I hear the voice muffle out again. This time I just sit up and reach for my mum, not even trying to answer and just wanting comfort. "It's ok, my love; he didn't mean to be loud." I hear her say as I shake my head and nestle it between her neck and shoulder while trying to hide my eyes from the bright room. "How about I take you back to your room for some calming down time, bub?" I hear mum say as I nod my head. "Would you be able to watch over Antor as I take Marice to his room?" I hear her ask the person she was talking to before, but he must have nodded their heads or spoken quietly because I couldn't hear their response, but I guess they said yes when we began our journey back to my room.
How could I continue to smile when I know the truth?
