The fire

I walked out into the dark and flinched at every crackle. I stopped walking down my street when I finally realized I had survived! I was still breathing! Still me! Or at least I thought. A smile crossed my face for what felt like the very first time. I now ran. I had been planning this day forever. I ran right to my school. Hopefully someone was there if not all the food was mine. The more I thought of the possibilities the faster my feet ran and the faster my feet the louder the crackling got. The crackling of a fire. As all my thoughts were then consumed with fear. I heard crying, screaming, and a....... Roar? Then an overwhelming wind hit me throwing me to the ground. Hitting my head hard. I turned around to face the beast created by the darkness. A dragon! The fairy tales I was told as a small child was staring me right in the face. He walked by me as if I was a small pest worth nothing. For a moment though I felt our eyes meet. He shook as if wiping off a bug and flew away. Getting up I got a look at my hands cracking literally with flames in between. I cried out in agony not knowing what was happening to me. Is this how people died? Am I dying? Is this what the darkness did give you hope and then crush it? I kept running toward the school. The dragon flew over me and landed right in front of the doorway. He spat his fire at me. I was covered in crackles and blow at them to take out the fire. The fire only grew and soon that was all I was. Fire.
