jesse wandered into jaime's open door, "looks like you done up the room a little more." looking at the theatre stuff on the walls, jaime looked up, moving her headphones to wrap around her neck.
"oh- thanks man. what have you got there?" "i figured that because you are so uneducated on anything classic, we could watch something together." "you want to watch something with me? seriously?"
jaime laughed at his offer and held her hand over her mouth, "i would love to. what's the theatre grade movie we'll be watching tonight?"
the two sat down and as the movie began, jaime listened to jesse.
"the breakfast club, nineteen eighty-five. greatest ending to any movie ever." jaime watched jesse explain why he loved the movie, "this song launched simple minds in the us. could have been a billy idol song but he turned it down. idiot." jaime laughed at the footnote jesse said.
"you really know your stuff." jaime softly smiled. jesse smiled aswell.
"perfectly sums up the movie. it's equally beautiful and sad." "that's fascinating." "right?"
as the movie played, jaime kept glancing at jesse and scooted closer to him.
the end came and as jesse started sniffing, jaime sat there, unfazed.
"how are you not in tears?" "i dunno. i'm not emotional with movies."
jesse scoffed, "didn't you say you don't watch movies?" "well, i'd rather read a book or play a game. movies aren't my thing."
jesse sat up, "where are you going?" "it's late, benji wants to show me his magic. but i promise you, jaime surname, you will enjoy movies. i'll make you enjoy them even if it's the last thing i do."
jaime laughed, sipping on her caprisun as she watched jesse leave.
sitting up, she saw the copy of the breakfast club on her bed. jesse must have forgotten it so she slid it on her desk, ready for collection by the boy next door.
waking up, jaime checked her phone for the time and date. for a saturday, it still felt like a sunday.
plus no rehearsal felt heavenly.
stretching out was a little painful but it wasn't anything serious. jaime gathered what she was going to wear for the day and went for a shower.
now refreshed, jaime went to find a small cafe or something for breakfast.
someone tapped her shoulder as she closed her door. "jaime?"
turning, benji smiled, "hey benji, what's up?" "jesse is at treble rehearsals so i was wondering if you wanted to do something?"
"of course. i was just grabbing breakfast since it's still pretty early. do you want to grab some with me?"
benji lit up at the offer, "yeah, of course!"
"thank you for this, by the way." jaime watched benji smile.
"no problem, man. we definitely have some overdue time to spend together. is there anything you want to do?"
"do you want to go see something?" jaime thought on it, "we could watch hotel transylvania. i heard that's good."
"sounds brilliant. let's go." jaime said as the two went to the theatre.
finn speaks!!
benji and jaime bonding time is much needed i think.
also short chapter but like it's still a chapter.
