"P'Bas...are you busy? There's a delivery for you at the front desk, but the messenger needs your signature." Bas, slightly disturbed by the sudden knock of his colleague, looked up from his computer. "Me?" "Yes." The girl nodded. Bas pushed his glasses higher and left his cubicle to pick up his delivery at the front desk. He didn't remember ordering anything, let alone ordering anything to his office address, so he approached carefully, his eyes doubtful. The delivery turned out to be a courier, holding a small bouquet of flowers, and a note. He signed for it and awkwardly walked back to his cubicle with the flowers while the heads around him turned and he got a couple curious and jealous looks.'Have a great day at work today! I'm sorry, I can't pick you up; my flight got cancelled, so I'm leaving Korea tomorrow evening. Can't wait to see you!'

Bas felt his cheeks flush as he read the little message. He quickly tucked the paper into his pocket when another colleague looked over his shoulder to read it. "People in love stink." Build scrunched his nose and teasingly poked Bas's shoulder. "I'm not in love. Job is just a friend." Bas quickly shook his head. "Yeah right." Build scoffed. "None of my friend take me on romantic getaways, dates, or candlelit dinners. And I never had any of my friends to send me dinner, flowers, bring me lunch, or pick me up after work. Not to mention, I don't have any personal belongings at my friend's place for when I stay over, and-"
"Okay, okay, stop it." Bas hunched over his keyboard, hiding his embarrassed expression. "We're just friends. We hang out, it's normal." He muttered, knowing that he and Job were something more than just friends. "Yeah right. He's your boyfriend and you know it." "Stop, or I'll report you to HR." Bas joked, but a big part of him wished that remark would shut Build up on that topic for good. He continued his work, occasionally glancing at the flowers and smiling to himself as the day went by. How long has it been since he and Job met in that coffee shop? He was rushing to work, not looking where he was going, and then his coffee cup collided with the chest of a handsome tall stranger, staining his shirt and Bas's own shoes. To Bas's surprise, the stranger didn't get angry. Instead, he gave Bas the most beautiful smile and knelt down to wipe his shoes with a napkin before they both sat down at the table to share breakfast. Bas got to work late that day, but he didn't care. It was three years and five months, and he was smitten since day one.
They spent birthdays together, Christmases and New Years, they spent weekends at each other's place, went on week long vacations at the beach, had romantic dinners at least twice a month, and more than two days of the week, Job would pick Bas up from work. Bas's colleagues of course gossiped, about the handsome man, leaning against the wall or his nice car, smiling, opening the door for Bas like a gentleman. Bas found him simply charming, in every sense of the word, and Job thought Bas was irresistibly cute. However, as much as they both wanted to, as much as their feelings for each other grew, they haven't crossed the line from friendship to dating yet. Bas wasn't anxious or insecure, he was just a late bloomer who only ever been in one previous relationship, with a girl, back in primary school, and they only held hands once. On the other hand, he knew Job had boyfriends before. Job wasn't pushy or demanding, he told Bas he was okay with keeping their friendship as it was, as long as he could be close to Bas, he never forced anything, and Bas loved it.
