Kenzie frantically paced back and forth trying to reach her parents while Ella and I did the same. How had this even happened? I mean sure it was an ok car but who in their right mind would have the nerve to steal someones car! I mean i admit, I wasn't really used to this.. coming from such a clean cut town and stuff but it still greatly surprised me!
“Any luck” I asked doubtful. They both grimaced and kept dialing. I looked at my own phone, starting to loose hope that we would get home anytime soon. Cars were already filing out of the stadium, causing a huge traffic jam, and blocking my sight so there was no way i would magically spot it in the distance. At least we would have some time before we would be able to get out anyway.
"I'm going to go search the rows again" I said to Kenzie and Ella. They both nodded and I took of in the direction where I thought Kenzies car was. I filed in and out of every row scoping out any red cars, and convertable in site, but with no luck. As I was walking back I felt a drop on my cheek.. I wasn't crying right? I wiped my eyes but they were dry. Then I realized it was raining. shit.
I started srpinting back to Kenzie and Ella, hoping to get there before it starts pouring. I hadn't even noticed the skies turning grey, I guess I was too distracted. By the time i got back It had turned from a few drops to s steady sprinkle, and my friends had already taken cover under the dome in front of the stadium and I joined them. Just as I had taken cover the rain began to fall in sheets, pounding against the roof.
“Lets go in to the stadium!" I shouted over the pounding rain, "Maybe it'll be more dry in there!”. We covered out heads with our hands and sprinted into the opening, already soaking wet from the sudden downpour.
The stadium was completely empty, only a few stragglers were left making their way out to their cars. Plus it wasn't much dryer in here. The rain was falling at a diagonal angle, causing the majority of it to fall through the half covered roof. “I don’t think our luck could get any worse right now. “ Ella groaned. She was right; the concert was great but just about everything bad that could happen happened. Lets just do a quick recap:
THINGS THAT WENT WRONG TODAY
1. Beth couldn't come.
2. Beth sneaked out and scared the shit out of us.
3. we ran into John...
4. John moved on suuper fast
5. I had major flashbacks
6. Our ride home was stolen
7. Its down pouring
We are stuck in an empty stadium, soaking wet, with no way home. I sat down and took out my phone, hopeful that someone had texted me back. “No freaking way, my phone is shot, it got too wet” I gasped throwing it on the ground in annoyance. "Shit! I'm sorry baby!" I immediately apologized, picking up my iphone 4s. It had a crack in the screen. That's just one more thing we can add to the list above...
“Come on” said Ella “lets at least walk around a bit, we’ve got nothing better to do.” We nodded.
“Oh my god I just got the best idea!” Kenzie screeched pulling us down to the floor “lets get up on the stage! “Oh you’ve got to be kidding!” I laughed as sprinted down the slippery steps to the floor. "Slow down or you'll kill yourself!" I screamed at her, unable to hold down my laughter. Kenzie and Beth walked up to the stage and hopped over the fence that held the fans back from the stage. They pulled themselves up and reached for my hand. “Come on, don’t be a baby” Beth taunted, "you wouldn't want to be a b-ba-bock BOCK BOCK BOCK CHICKEN!" I groaned at the cliche, but she hit me right on my pet peeve. I was definitely not a chicken. I hoisted myself up on to the stage and graped a spare microphone, smirking at Ella.
