He didn't talk to his mum the entire of Wednesday, really only leaving his room to go to the toilet. He didn't even go to get food, waiting in his room for when Jay sent Lottie up to give him his plate. The medicine he was taking for his shoulder was kept in a jar next to his bed, which meant that he didn't really have to leave his bed at all because all he had to do was reach across for it.
The only problem was that Jay still had his phone, meaning that even though he desperately wanted to talk to Harry he couldn't. Most of Thursday he spent in bed, the TV on and old re-runs of friends and bad day time shows played as he laid there. His bedroom door swung open, making him turn down the TV and look to where Lottie was stood with her arms folded.
"Someone's here to see you," she said, watching the way Louis' face lit up then saying, "it's not Harry."
"Oh, okay. I'll be down in a minute." He sighed softly to himself, taking caution of his shoulder as he climbed out of bed and pulled on a pair of joggers before following his younger sister down the stairs.
Jay was at work that day and the twins and Fizzy were at their grandparents, leaving only Lottie and Louis in the house. Slowly he made his way downstairs, walking across the living room and out into the hallway to see Lex stood by the door. She was staring at the big wooden frame on the wall that held pictures of Louis when he was younger, some of them with his sisters but most of them just him by himself.
"Oh Louis." she sighed, turning pulling him into a hug, being mindful of his shoulder.
"Hi." He breathed a reply, hugging her back.
"How's the shoulder?" Lex stood back and held him at arms length, examining him.
"It's alright, not great but I'm so drugged up on painkillers I can hardly feel a thing."
They headed out of the hallway and into the living room, sitting down next to each other on the sofa.
"And how are you?"
"Terrible." Louis replied, smiling sadly.
"She's only doing what she thinks is best Lou, she's your mum and she cares about you so her main priority is your safety."
"But I'm safe with Harry!"
"From what happened on Monday, it might not seem like it."
"So you're on her side in this?" He exclaimed, sitting up and moving away from her.
"No, no, Louis that's not what I meant. You've just got to see where she's coming from, you got seriously injured in Harrys care and she's probably scared. She doesn't want you to get hurt anymore than you have been." Lex explained and as much as Louis hated it he was starting to see his mums reasoning.
"Just because I get where she's coming from doesn't mean I'm ready to forgive her. She probably won't be ready to forgive me anytime soon either."
"Why's that?"
"We had an argument and she told me that I don't know what love is and that it's all just stupid meaningless feelings. So I shouted at her saying is that why dad left."
"Oh Louis," Lex groaned, shaking her head slightly, "now that was a bad idea."
"I know and I feel terrible but I was so angry, and I still am but I'm also guilty." He sighed, tears brimming in his eyes.
"She's your mum Lou, I'm sure if you apologise and let her know how sorry you are she'll forgive you."
Louis shrugged slightly and the room filled with a silence that he hated because he could tell Lex wanted to say something but she was holding back.
