Chapter 5

Speaking of pretty boys , I thought Emmanuel , my ex crush was the prettiest boy I had ever seen, but this one right here would destroy Emma in every single way , just imagine if XXX tentacion and Zendaya had a child, this fine man right here would be theirs .
"Heyyo Jekimah, where have you been ?" Jonathan asked walking over to meet him at the class entrance , "so that's his name , Jekimah , quite unusual ", I thought to myself, for a minute I thought he was looking at Jonathan, but then Jonathan was right beside him and he was still looking in the same direction, then it hit me , he was freaking staring at me , "composure Nimi, composure ", my inner voice said to me ,he finally turned away to face Jonathan, "Who's that? ", he asked Jonathan, "oh the newbie ?, her name's Nimi , you like?" , Jonathan asked him , he eyed Jonathan then smacked him on the shoulder before he went straight to his seat and placed his head on his desk backing the entire class .
Christian finally walked up to me , "Alright let's go ", he said and I nodded in agreement as we stepped out of the class everyone except Jekimah and one other girl screamed "Bye Nimi", what! How on earth did all of them know my name , " I exist too", I heard Christian screaming back at them and all of them just laughed .
We finally got back to class and the looks iremide gave to me weren't friendly at all but I just ignored her , we had two more periods before recess and they felt like two decades . Finally recess time, I stepped out of the class with the school map in my hand , I was determined to find my way to the cafeteria alone, Iremide offered to show me the way but I politely turned her down , now where do I begin I said with no clue where exactly on the map I was , my head was still bent down trying to study the map and then I felt someone's tall shadow cast over me , I looked up to see who it was and to my surprise, it was Jekimah, the last person I expected to be here right now, and damn he looked so fine up close, " hi", was all I could say, "hi, you're Nimi ,right?", said Jekimah
"Yh , I am " , I replied .
Oh my God Nimi , you can stop staring now , you're making him uncomfortable, "sorry if I interrupted anything but you looked kinda worried so I figured you might need help with something " he said softly, someone tell this fine man I don't mind being interrupted especially if it's by him , " oh no, you weren't , I was just trying to find my way to the cafeteria " , I said , " uhm I'm heading there also , I could show you the way ", he offered , "oh okay ",I agreed, " So much for being independent and finding your way alone ", my inner voice sneered at me
When we got to the cafeteria, I took a minute to admire the architectural design , it was really good, in a few minutes I spotted Christian, Iremide and Jonathan all seated on the same table, wait she told me he's bad news how come she seated with him. "We are going to seat with them, is that fine?" Jekimah asked, "Yeah , I don't mind ", I said . When we got to the table they were all arguing about something I couldn't comprehend, "just ignore them, they're always like that ", Jekimah said and I just nodded, a second later Jonathan acknowledged my presence , "Hey Nimi , welcome to coolest table in the entire cafeteria ", he said that outloud earning a few side eyes from the other students in the cafeteria , I just smiled at him in response , " so that's it all you do is smile , come on tell us a few things about you " , Christian said with pleading eyes , " well okay , I am Nimi Coker I gue..." I was saying before I got interrupted by Christian, "woah, wait wait wait, as in Coker , the Governor Coker ? " he asked , " Well, yes " I answered , "That's why you looked familiar ", Jekimah said in a very low tone but still audible enough for me to hear, "Tell your sister, I'm in love with her ", Christian said and I laughed knowing Femi wouldn't even spare him a second glance , " She doesn't even know you exist ", Iremide said with a straight face , " she will , one day , you may continue Nimi", he said, "yeah, so I'm 17, I'm into photography and I love traveling and cooking, I wanna own my restaurant someday , I play the violin and for sports, probably volleyball and swimming ", I said with a tone of finality, "I like you already ", Iremide said smiling , "what made you say that ? " I asked , "Babe, you cook, that's top tier stuff, I enjoy cooking too", she said with admiration in her voice , "it's okay with all the girly stuff" , Jonathan said , "you're just upset cause you can't even turn on a cooker" , Iremide said mockingly , and everyone on the table laughed except Jekimah who just smiled , I remember that day , during our last cooking practical" , Jekimah said still smiling , "it's okay , I get it", Jonathan said pouting, we talked for a little while till recess was over and we all headed back to class, my next period was biology so I was gonna be in the same class with Jekimah and Jonathan .
The class was to start in two minutes and Jonathan just strolled in like he was the teacher, "Hey Jona , where's Jekimah ?" I asked cause he was the only one who wasn't present or so I thought , "Oh he's on his way", he said taking a seat beside me , while Iremide and Christian were behind us , I need to know what's going on between those two , still waiting for the class to start , I saw Jekimah walk in but he wasn't alone , he was talking to someone and she was really pretty, "I like her ", I concluded in my mind , "Hey, mind if I sit here ", Jekimah asked pointing to the empty seat beside me when he finally got to where we were seated , "yes sure" , I said, the girl he was talking to walked over to sit beside Iremide , I turned around to face her , " hi, I'm Nimi", I said with a small smile, "I'm Priscilla ,nice to meet you", she said , I smiled back in response and turned to focus as the class was about to start
Finally my first day was officially over, I stepped out of my classroom as I said goodbyes to my classmates, I left the class room and was heading towards the parking lot, when someone called out my name, I turned to see who it was , it was Jonathan, "hey, uhm the gang wants your number ", he said out of breath like he ran to catch up with me , "what gang ?"I asked totally clueless , "Christian, iremide and rest of us " , he said in a rush, "oh" , I said as I collected his phone and typed in my digit, "12 pro or 12 pro max?" I asked him , "what? " He asked , " your phone ", i said " oh, 12 pro max , Bye " he said running off, well I guess that's it , when I got to the parking lot my driver was already waiting, I got into the car and turned on my phone , and a message popped up on my screen , "hey, it's Jonathan ", I replied then saved his contact , I put on my headphones to listen to some songs and before I knew it I blacked out.
