Poem of Loss & Dying

The harsh reality I face

from day to day

is a struggle that won't

just go away.

I have to be strong for my son,

And everyone else.

I want to cry and scream,

but as long as you're here I keep sane.

I struggle with loss,

pain and anxiety too.

But most of all I struggle,

from not having you.

As I draw my last breaths and time comes to pass,

I am still waiting for my wee young lass.

Please come home soon I really miss you,

And I'm sure you feel the same pain too.

Only time can heal me,

So they say.

So I stare at the clock,

As my time slowly fades away.
