Broken

This is Chanda's short story called broken. There Emily stood in the front yard where she had grown up and she never knew she would end up here again. The love of her life , John Mcallister was at work and she was wishing he was there . He was perfect and she loved him more than anyone in the whole universe. For some reason though he had been acting strange here lately and she was gonna figure out what it was . She would do anything to keep their relationship going . Well when he arrived from work that day he had some bad news , Emily started to worry. Well it turned out he lost his job. She didn't know what to do after that, Oh how sad she was. So 2 days after that, he filled out an application for a teacher at brooks middle school. She really hoped he would get the job cause they needed money more than anything. They barely had any food to survive and they had to ask their neighbors if they could have some. Yes yes it was that bad. Well sooner or later their neighbors got tired of them having to ask for food cause they were running out so they helped them out a little and gave them some money. The next day the application returned in the mail,John was happy with what he was seeing so he ran inside and told Emily and she jumped up" said oh John I'm so proud of you, when do you start? " Tomorrow, John said". Well the next day John got up and got ready for the big day. He showered, brushed his teeth, and told emily goodbye and out the door he went. He was ready for a change. Well while he was gone at work , Emily decides when he gets back she was gonna propose to him. She was vey happy and she wanted to celebrate the good news. Well hours passed and when he got home, he said his new job as a teacher was wonderful and they loved him. Emily told him to sit down she needed to talk and he sat down. She got down on her knees and said " John Mcallister will you marry me?" He didn't say anything for a little while and then finally he said no Emily I just don't wanna rush into things. Emily was heartbroken , she didn't understand why he didn't wanna marry her , she though she loved him . I thought you loved me. Well it's not that, trust me I love you it's just I wanna take it slow for now. So Emily went off On him and she said that she never wanted to see him again and to pack his stuff and get out of her house So John said well fine if that's the way you want to be about it well go ahead and be that way. He got his stuff packed and left and they never saw each for a long time after that. Until one day Emily was walking out of the barber shop and she saw John . She stopped and said"well hey there John how you been?" John said"hey Emily oh I'm good. How's being a teacher going for you? It's great. Have you got a job yet Emily? Oh yes actually I did I work down here at the barber shop and we got to get off early because my boss is going on a trip. Well that's nice, how you like working there? Oh it's wonderful. Really that's good, well I guess I better get going I got to get home and cook supper. Well alright you have a good one? Ok, you too. That was it they became really good friends in the end and John ended meeting a girl named Jessica and they had a son together named josh . On the other side Emily stayed single but she was
