I looked around. I was in the middle of the ocean on an island! THE OCEAN!! How could this be possible? I looked around at my surroundings. It looked about a two miles away from the mainland. There was a lighthouse and there was what looked like buildings for a prison. I tried to think back to my history classes, it seemed like it was so long ago. Now I regretted not always paying attention. Then it hit me. I took a look around again, spinning in a slow circle. Yep it was true, I was on alcatraz. But it was abandoned in 1963, wasn't it?Wait, that would make perfect sense! Victor used this because it is a prison and a military base that he can use to his advantage. Then I hear voices yelling around the corner, snapping me back into reality. There was no where to go but the water or the sky. If I try and fly it would be obvious because the sky so clear, no a cloud to be seen for miles. I decided water was my best choice. I took off at a full sprint towards the shore. I stumbled and tripped a few times but I picked myself up and kept running, knowing that my time was running out. Right as I got to the waters edge I took a deep breath and dove in. I swam as fast as I could. I kept swimming. It felt like hours that I had been swimming, when in reality it had only been around twenty minutes. But I continued on because if I went back I would be captured by Victor and wouldn't have accomplished anything. So I pushed on. Eventually when I came up for air for the millionth time I looked at the land ahead of me. It was so far away that it seemed as if I hadn't been swimming for the last hour. Then I heard the sound of whirring. I looked up and saw a white helicopter with a blue stripe across the middle. It had a huge searchlight scanning over the ocean. The light went everywhere around me, to the right and left of me, behind and in front of me. It was only a matter of time before it landed on me. Oh crap I thought Must be some of Victors cronies looking for me, they must have finally realized that I was missing. I have NOT swam all this way just to be captured and put right back where I started! I took a deep breath and dove deep into the water. I kicked my legs as hard as I could and kept swimming. The last thing I remember was hitting rock hard bottom.

When I woke up I was sitting in a chair in a white room, similar to that of a waiting room of a hospital. I looked around, there was something familiar about it but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. A doctor in a long white coat with dark black hair and blue eyes walked by and I jogged to catch up with him.

"Sir? Can you tell me where I am" I asked. But he didn't respond. I asked him again but this time I put my hand out to tap his shoulder. But instead of landing on his shoulder, it went right through. I gasped. Did my hand just go through him? I did it again. I touched his shoulder again and the same thing happened. My hand went right through him. Then he walked through a door that said 'Staff Only'. Am I a ghost? Did I die in the ocean? What the heck happened! Then an awesome idea formed. If I'm a ghost, can I walk through walls? So I tried. I walked to the door that the doctor had gone through. THUNK! I ran into the wall and landed on the ground. Well i'm definitely not a ghost I thought. If i'm not a ghost and i'm not done the where am I? I opened the door and followed the doctor. He hadn't gone far, he was just down a short hallway and in a room on the right. He was talking very quietly with another doctor. This one had blonde hair and chocolate brown eyes.

"I don't know if this is going to work." the dark haired man said "We are risking a lot trying this."

"Come on Luke, this is what the family wants for her, if this doesn't work then so be it. It's the family's own decision, I can't get in the way of that."

"Fine. But if this doesn't work then this is your fault Josh."

"Fine by me." The blonde haired boy, Josh, said as he put his hands up. Then they got up and walked to an operating room. I followed them through the door, slipping in just before it shut closed. There laying on her stomach on the operating table, was a little girl with two blonde pigtails and blue eyes. She was breathing very evenly, the rise and fall of her chest in sync with the beeping machine next to her bed. The little girl looked about five or six years old. Then I gasped as a cold realization struck me, the little girl on the operation table was a younger version of me. I stood there dumbfounded. Why am I on an operating table? Why don't I remember this? So many questions were going through my head that I didn't notice the doctors preparing for the operation. One of the doctors, Josh, had a clipboard with papers and overviews of the operation. I quickly grabbed it off the table. I read over the papers. It was just information about me. The only thing that surprised me, and it was last on the list.
Patient: Lily Bridgman
Height: 4'
Weight: 45 lbs.
Age: 3 years old
Eye color: Blue
Hair color: Blonde
Time Length of Operation: Approximately 4 hours
Purpose of Surgery: Chip implantation in lower back to prevent powers from becoming too powerful and to prevent usage of powers

Purpose of Surgery? What does it mean power to strong? Implant chip? Visible? What was all of this? I looked back at the operation table. In the time it had taken me to read this the doctors, Luke and Josh, had already finished preparation and had started the operation. I set the clipboard down and walked out of the room unnoticed, I didn't want to stay any longer, I didn't want to see anything more. What was this all about? I went back to the waiting room and sat down in a chair. I rested my head on my hands and thought about the situation that was currently at hand. That little girl in the middle of the operation was me. I was having a chip implanted to prevent me from using my powers or from preventing my powers from becoming too strong or something. Speaking of the chip, I felt the lower part of my back. I finally found it, by the feel of it then chip was about only 1 inch tall and 1 inch wide. You would barely notice it unless you knew what you were looking for. I drew my hand back and placed it in my lap. And the doctors didn't seem too sure about performing the operation, was there a danger or a risk to this surgery? Speaking of the doctors, they seemed really familiar, especially Josh. Then the wheels started turning and things started to fall into place. Was that Josh Sykes? Josh is a doctor? Or is it part of a scheme? Because he is with Victor. I gave up on thinking. I had never really realized how tired I was until that moment. So I curled up in the small chair in the white waiting room and fell into a deep sleep.

I woke with a start. I looked around and panicked. I had no clue where I was. Then I started to recognize where I was and I calmed down. I looked up at the clock sitting above the door. It had been 4 hours since I was last awake! I jumped up and rushed through the door. I ran down the hallway and threw open the door. It hit the wall with a loud boom! The doctors Josh and Luke looked up with a start.

"What in the world was that?!" yelled Luke

"No clue. Maybe the wind just blew it open." replied Josh

"Whatever, I highly doubt that's what happened. Anyway, let's finish up this surgery because I am dying to go home and sleep!" With that the doctors said no more and finished stitching the last of the wound together. Then they walked out of the room and left the little girl on the table. Her breaths still even, her chest still rising and falling in sync with the beeping of the machine. She looked the same, yet she had changed so much in those 5 hours. Both the 4 year old Lily and the 16 year old Lily.
