Wanda
Rain and bits of ice fell from the sky near the mountain top of Sokovia. The large stone base was being repaired despite the storm though. Thunder rumbled up in the clouds warning of the lightning that would soon come. Debris layered much of the base walls as many soldiers had been injured or worse. Inside the base didn't look much better but despite all the destruction there was one thing that had been secured. The scepter that held the mind stone was still perfectly intact. Inside the base however the living quarters seemed to be the least destroyed. Dim lights shown from each of the cell like living spaces most were empty. Lightning struck on a nearby tree on the mountain top, the spark being put out by the rain. A young girl around the age of fifteen jolted awake. Her breathing was heavier than it had been. "You ok?" A boy nearby remarked with a heavy accent. "Fine." The girl responded curling her arms around her knees burying her face in between. "You sure?" he asked again. "Mhm." Her muffled voice replied. "Wanda-" He paused. The girl, Wanda lifted her head up "What?" she turned to face him. "I- nevermind it's nothing." He quickly waved off the remark. "Pietro, I'm fine you don't have to worry I'd tell you if there was something wrong." she forced a smile on her face. Pietro moved closer to her, taking her hand in his "Please don't lie to me." he sighed. "Pietro drop the question...please?" she sighed, squeezing his hand a little tighter.
A loud beep caught both Wanda and Pietro's attention as more armed soldiers rushed past the small room. "I wonder what's going on now I thought we won..." Wanda began. "You know the Avengers, they never quit. I bet they're trying to find a way to win this war." Pietro rolled his eyes. Wanda opened her mouth to say something but held her thoughts back. The word 'war' made her mouth go dry. She shook off the feeling and turned back to her brother. "We should get some sleep." Pietro sighed, staring at the darkened sky. Wanda nodded but once again didn't say anything. Carefully she opened her eyes when she was sure her brother had drifted off to sleep. Wanda turned her attention to outside the window. Planes and aircrafts could be seen coming from and leaving the base atop the mountain. "I hope we know what we're getting into." she whispered to herself before sitting back on the bed. "Awake so late?" a voice behind her caught her attention. Wanda turned her head to face the voice; Baron Strucker. "I just had trouble sleeping is all..." she quickly answered. "You have regrets, huh? Don't think your doing the right thing?" he let out a small chuckle. "It's not that- it's the Avengers they haven't surrendered despite everything." she sighed. "Are you worried?" he asked. "I don't know... maybe." Wanda looked away, her face stiffening. "I wouldn't worry anyway the Avengers will soon give up if they know what is good for the people." Strucker scoffed. "Oh and by the way try to sleep, we have a busy day tomorrow." he remarked before walking off.
Wanda found herself awake in the early hours of the morning with her knees hugged tightly against her chest. A small tear trickled down her cheek. Her memories didn't stop though she clutched her head from the pain of it all. "He will pay for what he did." Wanda mumbled a gleam of red in her eyes. She turned her attention to her brother who had started to wake up. "Morning." he yawned, turning over to face her. Wanda wiped her tears off her face before putting on a smile "Good morning." she replied. Pietro's face curved into a frown before acting like he didn't see anything. Slowly he walked towards her and grabbed her hand. Pietro pressed his lips into her forehead and looked her in the eyes. "You can tell me anything you know? We only have each other... I'll always be there for you and I know you'll do the same." he sighed. Wanda's smile faded and a tear dripped down her cheek, she moved towards him and buried her head in his chest. "I'm sorry... I just don't want you to have me to worry about me." she breathed. Pietro was surprised by her sudden burst of emotion but wrapped his arms around her "It's ok. I'm your brother of course I worry about you." he whispered and looked down at her. Wanda smiled the slightest bit before the two of them got up.
