Seeing the best of things doesn't really come easily to Mr. Ackerman. Always negative and seeing every little thing in a very pessimistic way was what he was best at and what made him one of the top business men. But the one thing that kept him from going insane was his very dear friend, Eren Jaeger.

Eren was a sweet 28 year old man who lived next to Levi in their apartment building.
At first, Levi thought of Eren as a complete moron who didn't know a thing about personal space. When they first met, Eren was wearing a white t shirt that complemented his fair skin and a pair of skinny black jeans that flaunted his behind. The boys hair was disheveled and wisps dangled in front of his eyes as he occasionally attempted to stroke them away behind his ears. He was carrying a few large cardboard boxes outside of his new apartment and was fumbling around with his new keys trying to open the door without dropping everything. Levi eyed him as he walked up the stairs of the building and to his door right next to the brunette boy's. At first he didn't bother to assist the poor kid, but once Eren asked him to help him open his door, Levi found no reason not to help his neighbor get off his nerves quicker.

After that day Eren was trying desperately to get on Levi's good side. Soon, Levi couldn't say no to the adorable teal eyed boy when he pleaded him for the hundredth time to watch a movie or go out for lunch. Sometimes in the cold winter, Eren would bring over popcorn and hot chocolate mix to Levi's house and sit with him on the couch and watch movies to try and cheer him up and keep his mind off the harsh winter. In the fall when he was settled in, he'd invite Levi over to his house for dinner and make him little gifts for the holidays. After a while, Levi started to ask Eren over to keep him company in the late nights when insomnia was keeping him up. And soon, it wasn't restlessness that bothered Levi, it was the absence of the boy. Though he'd never ask Eren over without an excuse, but he wasn't so smooth with his words. He would ask him over with the most pathetic and fake excuses like, 'But it's the last football game of the season' even though Levi hated football, and Eren knew that. Or, 'Can you help me with cooking?' Which Levi sort of did need help with but never was able to admit it to himself.

When Eren did come over, he'd help Levi with whatever petty problem he came up with that day and then they'd just hang out together, enjoying each other's company. Seasons had past and months had flown by. Winter, fall, spring, summer all came and went in a blink of an eye. But out of all of the seasons and events, Erens all time favorite season was spring. The flowers blooming and the renewed smell of fresh grass and water that filled the air was something he so very much enjoyed.

All of seasons and the times they spent together made Levi start feel strongly for Eren. It made him want to spend every second with the idiotic brat he found on the third floor of the apartment complex in those tight black worn out pants and utterly adorable appearance.

It was 5:00 am in mid spring when Levi had finally leaned over to Eren and kissed him deeply. It happened on the roof of their apartment building as they sat on the edge with their pajamas still on, eating left over Chinese food from the previous night. They dangled their bare feet off and into the air as the sun rose to relive them of their restlessness.
