Cathryn looked around the large home she'd recently moved into and noticed some things out of place. So she decided to tidy up. The mortal way as Sebastián didn't approve of magic and he'd asked nicely for it not to be done around the kids. Suddenly a teenage boy with messy black hair came up to her. "Mama Cathy- You shouldn't be working so hard when you're this far along- Go relax. We'll take care of the rest-" He said kindly. "Oh Alec- If I can still work at the hospital, I can still tidy up. I'll be fine." She replied softly. Setting down a glass in the sink carefully.
The boy seemed to want to protest more, but he must've thought better of it. "Okay mama- Just- Take it easy please?-" He requested with a slight frown. "Yes of course. Thank you for caring so much." Cathryn replied honestly. Kissing his head then walking off. Looking around the house and checking in on the other kids. Cleaning here and there. Suddenly a little girl came running up. "Hey- Dinah, right?-" The woman inquired. The little girl nodded. "Hi. I'm Cathryn. I'll be marrying your dad soon- It's nice to interact with you-" She said gently. The kids eyes went wide and then she ran off before Cathryn could question what just happened. The woman tilted her head and frowned.
But at that moment, the house phone rang. Cathryn headed over to answer. "Hello?- Oh mum and dad- Wonderful to hear from you again. How have things been?-" She asked softly. Her dad proceeding to tell how her youngest sister was now using curse words and refused to wear shoes. "Well- You know how Cece can get-" She said before feeling a kick and going oof. Her mum asked if everything was okay. "Yeah mum I just uh- It's baby Margarette kicking-" She replied. Her parents both seemed to dote at that. "Awww well- Take it easy and make sure you and that baby are well fed-" Amelia said.
Ned audibly sighed. "How's that fiancé of yours?-" He asked finally. "Oh Seb- Yeah he's well. Currently at work." Cathryn replied softly. "What does he do again?-" Her dad asked. "Contracting-" Cathy replied instantly. "Oh right- How's that going?-" He asked. "Well- I'm guessing. He doesn't really talk much about it-" She said. Fidgeting with her clothing. "You don't find that odd?-" Ned asked. "He mostly wants to just talk about Margarette and the other kids- Plus our upcoming wedding." She said softly. "Okay- Well. Proceed with caution-" He warned.
After Cathryn had finally hung up with her parents she decided start on some lunch. Deciding on some fried chicken salad. Letting everyone choose their own dressing. She then called all the kids downstairs and had them wash their hands. Sitting down for some food herself. Peeking at the clock and wondering when Sebastián would be home today. Hopefully not too late in the evening. After lunch she sent the kids to work on their lessons while she cleaned up. It was a nice day out so after tidying she decided to bring the kids out for a soccer game. They seemed to really enjoy it but some of the kids, like Izzy, were seemingly unsure of the activity.
After everyone was back inside and settled down, she noticed the mail had arrived. She flipped through, noticing most was for her fiancé and leaving it on the table. Though there were some letters for her. One from her friend Luna, another from the pod, and a finally one from Melina. She read them all and smiled at the fact that there were new additions to both the pod and the royal family of Solaria. She decided to sit and write responses and put them in the mailbox. Afterwards noticing it was already nearly dinner. So she decided to make some meatloaf and mashed potatoes.
It was 5:30pm when Sebastián finally returned home. Cathryn immediately heated up some dinner and brought it to him in the living room. Then sitting by him on the couch. "How was work?-" She asked softly. "Decent- How's our little one?-" He replied. "Good- She's developing well and is kicking frequently-" Cathryn said in reply. Remembering her dad's words of caution but deciding to shrug it off for now. He kissed her cheek before eating in silence. She looked at her wrists, which had the fairy power inhibitors, and stared. It wasn't like she really needed magic and honestly not having constant mental input was great. But she did sometimes wonder.
Cathryn went to bed that night late. Way after most had fallen asleep. Just wondering what had brought her dad to think to warn her to be careful. She eventually dozed off, too tired to think any more on the subject. Deciding She'd bring it up with her family next time they talked.
