Everything smells funny and weird like syringes, antiseptics and whatnot. When my eyes slowly flutter open, it dawns on me that I am indeed in a hospital. I hate hospitals because the last time I was here, I was delivering my baby. A baby I gave away without any feeling whatsoever. I feel tired and most of all, I want to get out of here. It reminds me of what I vowed to never remember.

Why am I here again?

Then, my mum walks in with coffee on her hand. Meeting my gaze she smiles.

"You're awake." Her voice is full of concern as she draws nearer taking the empty seat next to me.

"We came as soon as we heard." She adds.

"We?"

"Your father is worried." She says and I raise a tired eyebrow." Apparently the bill was paid before we got here. Ashley doesn't know about that either."

Before I can respond to that, "How are you feeling?" That's dad after he walked in. "What really happened?" He adds.

"Tired." I answer his first question because I don't really know what happened.

"You'll have to spend some days at home." He responds. "The doctor said you need at least some rest-"

"I'll be fine at my place. With Ash." I cut him off.

"Your dad's right. You need some change of environment just for a few days."Mum seconds dad. "We miss you. You haven't been home in how long?"

When they gang up on me, without Ash to defend, my say never goes against their say. Despite our rocky relationship ever since what I did, they still care. I know deep down they still haven't forgiven me for my deeds back then.

Gladly they haven't brought it up. I just agree since I can't argue my case. The wall clock reads 12:38. Midday already? How long have I been out for? I'm about to ask for my phone and I recall the last place I had it was in Liv's car right before I got stabbed.

The reason to that still has me confused. I smile as my eyes meets Ash who walks right in. Her timing is impeccable. If she was here minutes ago, she would have saved me from them. I look at her then to both mum and dad. She understands my question without me uttering a word.

"I called them." She says and I lift my eyebrow.

"After Alex called me." She responds and I give her a terrible stare ushering at both mum and dad.

"Who is Alex?" That's dad.

"A close friend." I interject almost immediately. He will want to know who is Alex and by who I mean from the day he was born to what he eats right now.

After an entire wholesome time with my family, the doctor orders are that I'm to be discharged the following morning. Well, the sad thing is I'm to leave for home for a while, my parents' instructions, so to say. For me it'll be another boring week of staying home with them which I haven't done in a long time.

My good.

And when they leave for their flight, except for Ash who heads home, it takes a short amount of time before Nat shows up. I was wondering what is taking her so long and since I didn't have and still don't have my phone, I couldn't just call her to come over.

My heart literally fills with joy when she arrives. All I can do is give her a stare that questions where she was all day.

"I had to sit an exam for both of us." She vents. "Do you know how hard that is?"

"Thanks. I guess."

"I'd do anything for you. You know I love you right?"

"Me too." I smile despite myself.
