AN: Originally I was working on this as an xReader where regardless of gender Reader wakes up as a genderbent Kouen. And this is a wip I've had for years. But something came up that made me want to come back to this (it's called the Female Uesugi Kenshin theory...details on my tumblr -- https://at.tumblr.com/devilrosola/opportunity-missed/l2ufzpk3116p ) and had fun turning it into a self-insert to add more personal experiences. And then I threw a monkey wrench in it so things wouldn't go the way I planned (read I used a randomized source to put the unexpected in that my si has to deal with). Perhaps the original concept may see the light of internet one day, but with so many wips...I doubt it unless there's a specific demand for it ^^

"Leaedeyekeoeueeene? Leaedeyekeoeuen!" is the muffled but loud voice I hear ringing in my head.

It can't be morning yet, my alarm hasn't gone off. But daylight fills the room and with the shouting, I fear I am late. I sit up with my heart racing as I try to remember the day. Is it the weekend? Do I have to take the kids to school? Do we have church? Is it morning time or was I taking an afternoon nap?

"Oh good, you're finally awake. I didn't think you'd respond but your body twitched so I thought maybe. I'll get Lord Koumei."

Koumei??? Did I hear that right? I look over to see a young girl that gives off eastern maid vibes. She turns and leaves the room where my window should be. Now things come into focus enough for me to realize I am not in my room. For one, there's a lot more red and gold surrounding me than I care to see. I much prefer greens, blues, purples, and silvers.

I barely have time to register what is going on before a knock and who should enter but Koumei from Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic! I suppose I did hear the maid right, but how is this possible? I rule out this being a dream since in dreams I usually have an extra sense of knowing what is going on.

Some elaborate trick could be possible, but I don't know who would try to pull something like this off. Perhaps if I woke up in my own room, someone could have pulled my cosplay from the closet. But from this room, the scenery out the window looks like I would have had to have been flown to a foreign country in my sleep. Plus Koumei's robe is a different fabric than my satin cosplay.

Honestly it looks as though he walked right out of the anime and come to think of it, everything does seem to have a more animated look to it. Could it be that my dreams of over 30 years of being whisked to another world has finally come true? Not complaining that I ended up in Magi. Or maybe I somehow got put in some holodeck experiment? Also not complaining if that's the case.

He sits on the chair beside the bed and addresses, "My Sister and Queen."

"Wha-" I am beyond shocked! I've only known him to say a similar phrase to his big brother Kouen. Honestly in the few moments since seeing him, I was hoping he'd address me as his wife. "What's going on?"

"You have been out since we left Magnostadt. Rest assured you are safely in Balbadd now. The agreed Peace Conference is still a month off. I am glad you have recovered before then."

Magnostadt. Peace Conference. Sounds like I'm in the middle of the manga's timeline, shortly after the anime ended.

"Out?"

"Yes. We do not know the reason, but as we were packing up camp, you were found passed out."

"Okay, this may sound weird, but who do you think I am?"
