Chapter 23- Scar

I was walking down the street with Luna and Rebecca. It was friday April 17th 1985 4:07pm.

"So did you hear the rumors about chad?" Rebecca asked, blowing a piece of gum.

"Yes, rumors spread around school like wildfire it seems," Luna said,mystical but unfazed as she sorted her tarot cards.

"What rumors?" I asked

"Oh Corey,you really need to pay attention more, this is big news, apparently Chad fucked Jhonthan in the change room!" Rebecca said "that means you have some really hot guys for possible options''

"I think I'll pass on jockstrap and marbles for brains," I joked.

"Anyways, be careful tonight,K?" Rebecca said.

"Heh, I'll try...Luna what's my fortune for this?"

Luna shuffled the cards and I grabbed three and she looked at them

"everything Will play out for the best". I smiled. We made it to my place.

"Cya Tomorrow Corey"

"Bye"

"Bye Luna bye Rebecca!". They kept walking and I walked inside and went to my room. I unpacked and showered while practicing what I wanted to say. By the time I was ready it was 6:32pm. I walked downstairs, where my mom and dad were. Dad was cutting stake while mom was watching TV.

"Hey kiddo, how was school?" Dad asked.

"It was great! How was work?"

"Tough,but enjoyable as always. We got some new people at work from Spain. Ilove working with people from different backgrounds and countries,they teach me so much!" He said happily.

"It's amazing how different but similar someone can be from you" mom added. My parents were really open minded. Dad worked at a 5 star family restaurant,and Mom was a scientist. I took a deep breath,I decided it was time.

"Mom, Dad...I need to tell you something". Mom walked over to us.

"What is it honey?"

".....im gay-" I said looking at them. My dad's face fell and my mom walked away. My dad shouted Something before next thing I knew my left eye was slashed with a knife. I fell onto the floor with a scream, holding my eye in pain crying as blood and tears ran down my face.

"Tell anyone about this,and it will be alot worse" my dad said before walking away.

I eventually made my way to my room,in pain. I found an old shirt and ripped it to get some of it off,before wrapping it around my eye,using my hair to cover it. It was orange so it blended in with my hair, thankfully. It wasn't a perfect fix but it was good enough that I could cover up with a hood.

The next day at school I avoided my friends. I couldn't risk them knowing or seeing,but that was gonna blow when I was in the bathroom. I was washing the cut out the best I could, Nervously. I didn't want people to know. As I did so I felt a hand on my shoulder

"Why have you been avoiding us?" Luna asked. I stayed quiet. Rebecca turned me around and saw my eye was covered,before Taking the ripped shirt off,before gasping

"Oh my jesus Fuckin christ what the hell happened?!" She asked

I sighed and looked at Luna. Words didn't need to be said,she knew what I meant,and she and Rebecca hugged me, knowing exactly what I meant. I started to cry,both from physical pain but also mental exhaustion. I had spent the night scared that I was gonna be killed and didn't sleep a wink. as I was hugged a teacher walked in.
