⚠️Trigger Warning⚠️ • Swearing, crying

11:30 am

"Is it just me or does the cafeteria feel a bit empty?" Tommy asks me, reaching for another grape.

"I guess, kinda. Everyone that was at that party is gone. It'll probably fill up again on Monday or whenever those kids are well enough to come back," I reply, trying to see if I can chop a baby carrot with a plastic butter knife.

Tommy was about to reply to me but two people came up to our table. It was Dream and George. George had a lunch tray and Dream didn't. He honestly looked horrible, almost like he hasn't slept in days.

"Do you think we could sit with you guys?" George asks.

I reply quickly before Tommy can, "Sure, why not?"

"Thanks," George replies, sitting down.

For maybe around five minutes nothing was said. It was just awkward silence. Of course Tommy was the one to break it,

"So what's up with you guys?" he asks them.

"Uhh its been kinda horrible," George replies.

"Why's that?" I ask.

He doesn't reply. The question seemed to have made him more upset.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't of asked."

"It's fine."

"Uhh so where's Sapnap?" Tommy asks.

Dream just instantly starts crying. George didn't react, almost like it was normal.

"He's in juvie. He was caught with some bad shit at that party the other night," George quietly replies.

"Oh."

I don't say anything else. I look up at Tommy. He wasn't shocked or anything. He had more of a curious face. Like a raccoon when you have food in your hand. I gave him a confused face. He quickly looks at Dream beside him then looks back at me. He cocks his head like a puppy asking for treats. I got what he was trying to say now. He absolutely hates people crying. Not like a "what the hell is wrong with you" kinda way but more like a "please don't cry, I don't wanna see anyone sad" kinda way. So now Tommy was asking me for permission if he could comfort Dream. He was only asking for permission because Dream has verbally and physically bullied him. Now in this position, he doesn't seem like a boy that could do such a thing, like he wouldn't hurt a fly.

I nod. Tommy hugged Dream. He didn't hesitate to take in the hug and started crying into his shoulder. I look back at George. He just sighed and laid his head on the table.

"How are you feeling George?" I ask him.

"I'm not sure. I guess kinda numb. All that dumb shit we did was because Sapnap wanted to do it. The parties, drinking, making fun of people. Looking back at it, it feels like a fever dream. Our schedules are literally eat, school, homework while we call, sleep. Life's just become like... lifeless."

I was about to respond when a teacher comes up to our table.

"Are you okay Clay? What happened?" he asks Dream.
