Despite all his pleading, Sammy's request was still met with refusal as he huffed petulantly and pouted. Nothing was going as planned and his friend probably hated him because he refused to give him what he wanted. This was all so unbelievable.

He wasn't even asking for much.

"It would be so simple for you to do, so why not?" He whined, wishing he could hurl something at his annoying friend, but Kellen wasn't even looking at him. His manner made the whole situation even more infuriating than it already is. "Just bring me back to life, and if things go badly, kill me again."

Kellen probably sighed for the sixth time since they began this discussion – Sammy counted – before giving him an annoyed stare. "I will not kill you. Either stay dead or accept how things go. Not everything has to go your way."

"But I want it to." Sammy grumbled knowing how unreasonable he sounded, but that was only born out of his fear of how things would go. Nine years of suffering, and he craved so many things, things that he used to have as a living person. It was mostly being acknowledged that he missed the most. Sammy had been ignored for a very long time, but what if he was happier dead?

"Is this about that guy you like so much?" Kellen had hit the nail on the head.

Sammy groaned at that regretting ever running his mouth round Kellen. "Mostly, yes."

"I can force him to like you. It might be temporary, but-"

"Which is exactly why I don't want you to do it." Kellen was cut off immediately because Sammy was super against that idea. Actually, he was completely against it. "Not only is that messed up – I think you need some serious help – but it's also forced. It's not real. Why would I want something like that?"

A shrug was his response and Kellen sighed for the seventh time as he averted his gaze. Maybe Sammy was really being annoying, but he really didn't want to deal with a broken heart. Broken hearts suck.

"Because why live an honest life when you can take the easy route." Kellen told him as he rose up from the floor, where he was recently killed by Agnes, dusting himself before he headed towards the door. "I will not revive you just to kill you again. Make up your mind about this."

This time it was Sammy who sighed. He did not expect Kellen to understand but he still felt somewhat disappointed. In all honesty, he did feel slightly tempted to take the 'easy route', but he quickly discarded that idea. He immediately felt better when Kellen was surprised to see someone behind the door when he pulled it open, and he received a glare immediately as a very irritated Aubrey stood there with his hand raised about to push open the door himself.

Kellen had his old notebook shoved his way and he took it not knowing it was missing to begin with.

"Hello, thief." He greeted, wondering why he was the source of Aubrey's ire this time.

"Hello, liar."

He barely reacted to the way Aubrey had bumped into him when he walked in, but he stood there in loss not knowing which lie Aubrey was mad about exactly. "This was said with more vehemence than usual." He remarked, sounding confused, and his eyes went towards Sammy as a silent plea for help, or at least an explanation, but Sammy just stood there smiling at him unhelpfully.

It was clear that Aubrey was not in the mood to deal with Kellen, but he also looked tired as if he hadn't slept much the past few days. Sammy knew Aubrey had been finding it hard to sleep lately after knowing about Briar's plans, but it seems like things only got worse after Lucille's last visit.

Aubrey had spent his nights just thinking and worrying about so many things, but he never verbalized his thoughts to Sammy who was his company on those nights.
