Like a drum it beats so hard...so fast.
It's melody-my life's song-
Oh!How I long to live to dance to it's beat for as long as i can...............
She scribbles in her journal...She sees him clear in her minds eye. His tall lanky frame dominates her thoughts... the wide lipped smile he flippantly gives as he shakes his head in good natured enjoyment. Tonight he seems more real to her...the stars seemed especially bright-twinkling down at her just the way his eyes always do. How can her heart beat so just by thinking of him. Euphoric!Yes that's the way he made her feel...Restlessly she fidgeted on the bed as his image flooded her mind, never had she found anyone else as handsome or as perfect as he was. He was flawless- perfect in every way.
Tomorrow she would tell him, yes she would bare her heart out to him no-matter what it cost her. The secret weighed hard on her heart-yearning perhaps straining to be told. Tomorrow she would tell him...she would lay it all out at his feet like an offering
It threatens to break out in song
It grows louder and louder with each second
Wanting to be set free and be liberated at last
There he is. Tall and handsome-just the way he had been last night in her dream. She squared her shoulders and smoothed out the creases in her crisp black skirt. A few breaths of air- yes that's it. Her feet felt like lead so heavy and unresponsive. The eyes, the stares, inquisitive whispers- she heard them all and saw them all, but go on she must.
She had made it, yes she was here, she took a deep breath taking in his sweet masculine odour.Heavenly, tantalising. She stored it in her memory bank, to be savoured alone in her own private world. If she could just reach out she would touch him, feel him, know him in a way she had never known him before...
Closing her eyes, she reached out...and felt...nothing...She bunched her palm into a fist...still...nothing.
Tentatively, slowly, her eyelids separated and she saw...nothing-nothing at all...
She stood all alone, frantically searching for what had been there a moment ago...Where had he gone to?Into thin air he had apparently varnished...gone back to where he belonged...into her memory bank...a memory to be cherished...dreamt of...wished for...and not had...
Still it keeps on beating- it keeps on singing
Still it keeps on wishing-it keeps on dreaming
Still it keeps on needing it keeps on cherishing
Yes the heart never stops loving and hoping.....
