A Dance With Ominis

Ominis dressed in as smooth silk as he. Finally, a coat that opens him to the world showing us all how he can truly stand. I've always seen him as handsome and gentle but in this light will I be able to help myself? That twinkle I'm my eye hasn't left since the day we met. I can't miss as unique an opportunity as this. After all, it's not every day I get a chance to dance on the floor with Ominis Gaunt. You glide on over to him and he smiles when he senses your presence. You say softly and full of breath "Hello Ominis, you look quite, quite sharp." He seems happy to hear that coming from you and walks forward to you and holds your hand in both of his and smiles "I'm sure you're just as beautiful as every day of mine has been since we had the absolute pleasure of crossing paths." You squeeze the hand he has of yours and reach for the other blushing madly you can't help but smile and as you are about to say something he cuts you off " My apologies if you have a date already it was no one's fault but my own that I didn't say anything sooner, you have been the light in my shadowy world and I couldn't live with myself thinking I had missed the chance to share such a unique event as this with you." You squeeze his hands and pull him into a hug almost teary-eyed " Ominis I had been waiting all this time for you to ask. I thought maybe you had asked someone else to attend and I didn't want to impose or embarrass myself by asking if you didn't feel the same as I. It made my heart fill with pure delight hearing those kind words you just said. I couldn't imagine coming to such an event by myself but I didn't want to go with anyone else but you. So I arrived alone on the chance that you might be too. I know we haven't had much of a chat recently but I can assure you I've missed every minute of our usual outings together. You made a space in your heart and in your life for me. Regardless of how things had turned out, I wanted this forever. " You hold each other tight and for a minute everyone else in the world disappeared. Then the music began and I opened the hug again, he softly moved his hands from my waist and traced them down my arm until he found my hand confidently but still soft as ever he says " Shall we" I giggled " We shall" he guides you to the floor and the first dance is, of course, the classic coordinated dance around the ballroom we all had to practice these last few weeks. My right, his left, hands up together and our other hands at our sides so we may alternate from one to the other and occasionally we spin or hold each other close like in a normal waltz. We spin about the room giggling as we or another one of our classmates makes a mistake during the dance eventually someone trips and bumps Ominis and he's holding me tight face to face my heart racing I want to kiss him but it's too soon. I try to give him his balance and back up a bit and apologize. " Please no apologies it was my fault for falling into you. Although I can't say I was too sorry with our faces as close as they were, I didn't want to rush things." I squeeze his hand 
"There was no rush and I enjoyed it as well." We spend the rest of our night dancing almost all of our time we were found on the dance floor. On our final dance, we were ever so close and we earn a dance just the two of us if the teachers decide we deserve it out of the others. Ominis just smiles and leans in so our foreheads and resting on each other as I look into his light eyes.   I nuzzled myself into the crook of his neck and forget about the world, before I knew it it was just us on the floor and they grant us our dance solo. The music is free and we fly ourselves around the ballroom our movements full of trust and security. He's so nimble and moves so freely and I just lean into whatever way he leads. I kiss his cheek in passing "Oh" he says smiling and I say "You just looked so wonderful and were doing such a fantastical job." " Thank you" he says grinning with a hint of rose on his cheeks. He then spins me and catches me as I lean back and he leans forward our lips ever so close and we pull ourselves back up holding our hands as we walk out way off the dance floor. We spent almost the whole evening flying around the room together so I suggest we go somewhere to sit and find a spot in the viaduct courtyard. We rest our feet and I lean over to rest my head on his shoulders. He rests his head on mine. "Thank you Ominis for dancing my night away." " The pleasure was all mine tonight turned out even greater than I imagined." He grabbed my hand and held it softly. After a moment of us just resting together I lean forward and turn to him and hold both his hands looking at him with eyes full of warmth and love " Ominis I can't tell you how much today means to me and how much you've impacted my year. I never imagined I'd make a connection like this romantic or otherwise. I'd be lying if I said I didn't imagine us together. I just hope you do too?" He laughs" After all I've said tonight I'm surprised you still question, of course I see us together. I see us together for as long as the universe lets us." He pauses and thinks for a moment. " Actually, in that case, I've been waiting to give you this" he pulls out a green and gold locket "This was my grandmother's and I have been waiting for the right person to give this to and I'm hoping that person is you." I hitch my breath looking at this lovely necklace before me " How could I accept such an extravagant gift surly this is too much." " Not at all! It is my pleasure I want my love to be wearing it and I'm hoping you'll be mine. May I?" I nod and turn as he finds his way to the clasp quicker than I had imagined. I smile coming to the realization he said he wanted me to be his love " So does that mean you're asking me to be yours?" He blushes " I suppose it does, how would you feel about that?" I bring him in close as ever " I would love nothing more ." Our lips ever so close to touching I can feel his breaths and his warmth on my skin. He holds me around the waist and my arms rest above his neck I take a breath and lean in his soft lips colliding with my own. It felt like everything in my life had come to a close, the sun had come out from the clouds and I was basking in the rays. Ominis always finds a way to bring light into my life and this kiss was nothing short of magical. He pulls back and kisses my forehead. I smile as we just hold each other. Nothing else needed to be said we both knew how we felt and that this was just the beginning of our bright future, together.
