The Band

Ethan's POV

Ethan was the lead singer of a band that was going on tour starting today, they were all getting ready to go when Ethan pulled the drummer (Jack) and the bass player (Tyler) to the side away from Mark. "Guys..I wrote a new song..but it's for Mark so he can't know anything about it...I'd appreciate if you could learn it super quick so we can preform it at our first stop..is that ok?" The two men smiled at Ethan, they had been waiting on this forever as Mark and Ethan were best friends and they knew Ethan had the biggest crush on Mark. "Of course Ethan" Jack smiled and Ethan handed him some sheet music and he walked away "Now Tyler..I know you play bass but since Mark isn't going to be preforming in this song I'm gonna need you to play the guitar..can you do that?" He hands Tyler the sheet music and Tyler looks it over "Yea I don't see why not" Ethan squeals and hugs Tyler "Thank you so so much Ty" Tyler hugs him back and then goes to practice the new song. "This is going to be amazing.." Ethan opens his notebook and doodles.

Marks POV

Mark was packing up his guitar when he saw Ethan pull the other two aside but decided to mind his own business and continue his packing, he took his guitar stuff on the bus along with his clothes and put them in his designated spot and went back inside. He saw Ethan hugging Tyler and they looked so happy and that made Mark jealous so he looked away from the two and when he looked back Ethan was just sitting and drawing in his notebook.

No one's POV

They were out on the road and the three had the new song down completely and while Mark was still asleep they decided to have a little meeting about the song. They all sat in the room together and looked at the papers "You have no idea how much I appreciate you guys doing this for me..." Ethan smiles at his other two friends and they smile back "Of course Ethan, we have been waiting for you to confess to him forever" Tyler said and Ethan blushed a bit "Well tomorrow is the day..I'm super freaking nervous about what he might say.." Jack reached over and patted his back "It will be fine Ethan, he's your best friend"

The next day

The group was up early and on the stage for their first show. Ethan was setting up his mic and testing the audio. Tyler was testing his bass for later. Jack was doing a bit of drumming. Mark was testing his guitar and he occasionally found himself looking at Ethan who kept looking back to Tyler who smiled back and winked causing Ethan to blush and Mark slammed his guitar case making Ethan turn to look at him "You ok Mark?" Mark put on a smile and nodded. Ethan seemed hesitant to believe him but then it was time for the show to start as the people started flooding into their seats, they couldn't see the band yet as a curtain separated them from each other. They started to chant the band name "Cranky Crew, Cranky Crew" (this is an au where none of them are YouTubers) then the curtain started to open and Ethan greeted everyone "What is up everyone?! My names Ethan and this is the Cranky crew!" The crowd screamed and cheered as Ethan went around to introduce everyone for people who are new, first he walked over to Mark and put a hand on his shoulder causing Mark to blush a bit but thankfully no one noticed "This is my best friend Mark, he plays the guitar for us" Ethan gestured to Mark who played a few chords and the girls in the crowd went wild.

Ethan smiled and gave his shoulder a light squeeze as he walked backwards to Jack "This is my other friend Jack! He is our drummer!" Jack smirked and waved playing a few notes and winked to Ethan as he walked away. Mark was getting pissed off and confused. What the hell was happening between the three of them? They can't be like- together right?- Mark frowned a little as Ethan made his way over to Tyler last and put an arm around his waist since he was shorter then Tyler "This is Tyler! He is our bass player!" Tyler played a few chords as well and the fans cheered. Mark was upset and just wanted to play, he didn't care what he just wanted to play so he could get lost in the music. They played a few of their normal songs that they have done dozens of times over then after what Mark thought was the last song Ethan turned to Jack and Tyler and nodded. Tyler took Mark by his arm gently and took him over to the chair that Jack brought out. Mark sat in the chair confused as Tyler picked up his guitar "Tyler please be careful with that.." Tyler just chuckles and nods as Jack went back to the drum set nodding to Ethan that he was ready and so did Tyler. Ethan turned to the crowd and smiled brightly "I wrote a new song a week ago and I asked Tyler and Jack to learn it so I can sing it to someone special" Ethan nodded to the boys as the song started up. (Yes I'm aware it's a real song)

As the song finally ended Ethan made eye contact with Mark who seemed confused. Ethan was a bit upset that he didn't understand as he started to tear up he turned to the crowd and put on a smile. "That's all for today guys! Thank you so much!" Then he ran off stage and went to the bathroom to splash cold water on his face.

Marks POV

I was sat in a chair off to the side while the others played, I was so confused then Ethan started to speak at the end. I didn't even realize the song was over I was so lost in the sound of his voice like a sailor in a sirens trance. He didn't even realize that Ethan looked at him until he saw him run off the stage, he looked at Tyler and Jack confused who seemed concerned and ran after Ethan leaving Mark stunned and confused as everyone left "What the hell is happening?.." then the lyrics hit him "Oh my god..." he jumped out of the chair and ran full sprint after the other two. As the two stood outside of the bathroom door trying to open it and calm down Ethan who seemed to be having a panic attack Mark pushed them away from the door and put his hand up to it "Ethan..let me in please.." Ethan was crying and shaking as he hesitantly unlocked and opened the door and Mark walked in and hugged Ethan tightly. Ethan blushed and started to relax as he hugged him back and buried his face into Marks neck "Ethan I'm so sorry...I don't know why it took me so long to realize...I love you Ethan and I always have and I always will" Ethan looked up at Mark in shock then Mark kissed him. His two friends that were standing outside of the bathroom squealed like teenage girls and high-fived each other as Mark pulled away from the kiss "Ethan would you like to be my boyfriend?" Ethan smiled brightly "I thought you'd never ask"
