Future Shenanigans: A Random Collection

Dogfish (ft. Kokomi X Gorou)

It was just a special commission down in Enkanomiya, the Traveler believed. Tasked by Kokomi to investigate a strange occurrence about a sudden elemental energy spike, the Traveller and Paimon once again travelled to Enkanomiya after previously abandoning it when all available chests have been raided clean.

----- Enkanomiya, beneath Inazuma, Teyvat. -----

"Paimon doesn't like this place at all, it's way too dark and creepy. It gives Paimon the heebie jeebies..."

"It's gonna be a quick one, Paimon. We'll be out before you know it."

"Ugh, fine.... But Paimon wants an extra helping of Sweet Madame once we're done here!"

"Sure....sure..."

"Why does Paimon get the feeling that you're just trying to get things over with..."

A scream suddenly came from a distance up ahead and the duo immediately picked up the pace. When they got there, they saw a little child cowering in fear, crying and screaming on top of a rock formation surrounded by Vishaps. The Vishaps clawed at the young child as she tried to shift away from the Vishaps' attacks, terrified at the monsters surrounding her.

"We have to help her out!" the Traveler said as a dull blade was summoned and he/she lunged at the Vishaps, which had turned around and faced them instead.

"Right with you, Traveler! Paimon will be here for emotional support!" (Seriously, Paimon?)

Soon after, the Vishaps turned into nothing but a pile of loot ready for collection. They then quickly went to check on the little girl, who was still shivering in fear.

The little girl looked like she was about 5 or 6 years of age. She had pink hair that was tied into a hairstyle similar to Kokomi's. Additionally, two fluffy ears and a little doggy tail indicated that she wasn't quite human. She wore a mostly lavender-coloured Watatsumi Priestess inspired outfit similar to the one Kokomi usually wore with the exception of an added princess skirt. As for the accessories, she wore a sea-blue-and-cyan omamori round her neck and a hairpin similar to the one Kokomi had worn, albeit it being periwinkle colored.

"You okay there, little one?" the Traveler asked, as the little one looked up to them with her cyan eyes. Tears welled up in her eyes once again before she hugged the Traveler tightly and cried out loud. Some time later, she fell asleep in the Traveler's arms as a sense of safety combined with the energy spent lulled her to sleep.

"Wow, she must have been terrified after that experience."

"Agreed, must have been hard for a kid like her down here." the Traveler said as he/she hugged the little one tight, patting her little head and the little child nuzzled against it in response.

"So...cute! " The Traveler thought, as he/she held her a little tighter.

"Where are her parents though, Paimon thought that no one lives here anymore?" Paimon said as she looked around the area, abandoned and lost to time eons ago.

"Well, for a kid to appear here, her parents must be somewhere close by." he/she said.

"Well Paimon thinks that they're super irresponsible to let a kid go running around like that! The little one here could have been seriously hurt!" said Paimon, putting her hands on her hips.

"Let's get her out of here first. We can't have her with us." he/she said as he/she pulled out the map, ready for teleportation back to Watatsumi Island.

"But what about the investigation?"

"We'll come back for it later, right now, we need to get her to safety."
