WHERE YOU'VE BEEN ISN'T AS IMPORTANT AS WHERE YOU'RE GOING
Ah, here you go again....taking another, walk down to memory lane, looking somewhat disappointed; concerned that you are not the person you thought you'd be by now. If I had a bucket of water I would throw it in your face and tell you to stop. Of course you would have every right to do the same to me since I've been in your shoes on more than a few occasions.
I've always said that where you've been should be a paragraph and where you are going should be a book. Don't ignore the past, but leave it there.
The only real value of the past is that we can learn a thing or two from it. But there is NOTHING you can do to change it. Doc Brown is not going to be showing up at your door with a time machine so you can go back in time and buy Google stocks, apply for a job in Facebook, inflate your GPA and make some crazy sports bets.
The past is what it is. It doesn't define you. When you dwell on the past, you clutter your canvas. As I love to continually remind you, you can't paint a masterpiece on a cluttered canvas. So break out your crayons, your paint brush, and let's get to work on creating a work of art that turns your life into something that belongs in a gallery.
We all have a 'dare to be great' situation. We're all heroes in the eyes of somebody. But in order to find your 'dare to be great' situation, you have to look for it.
So get out there, find your 'dare to be great' situation and remember where you've been is not nearly as important as where you're going.
