Azur Lane: The Hotshot Pilot Turned Commander

Chapter 17 - An Awkward Moment

The mysterious woman's appearance in the restaurant makes Lt. Cdr. Fernandez feel uncomfortable. Especially when she turned around and called out his name.

????: Doodzki is it really you?!

Doodzki: Hey there Audrey. Fancy seeing you here.

Audrey Carlson is the daughter of Admiral Howard Carlson. The man who was a Gulf War veteran. He is a double ace for having shot down 10 Iraqi MiGs. She's is one three admiral daughters that Maverick dated. Of course her father was an instructor at naval academy in Maryland. And he was once Maverick's R.A.G. instructor when he was still learning to fly an airplane. At this time Maverick didn't know that Audrey is his daughter. He dated her as a dare at first. Eventually they had a serious relationship. Until Maverick fell in love with another admiral's daughter. Maverick is the one who called off their relationship since there are some things that they didn't agree upon. Audrey never fell in love with any other man after Maverick. She's still hoping that they will end up as lovers for the second time around. But the hotshot fighter pilot doesn't feel like getting into a relationship once again.

That's until he's beginning to fall in love with Enterprise. But he doesn't want to go for it at once. This is despite the fact that he has closed the chapter of his life with Samantha. Audrey decides to strike up a conversation with Maverick.

Audrey: So Doodzki how are you doing these days?

Doodzki: I'm doing ok. How about you?

Audrey: I'm still single and available. I heard about the accident that you and your deceased girlfriend got involved in.

Doodzki: I wasn't asking about your civil status Audrey. I was asking about your life after our breakup.

Audrey: Oh silly me. I'm good. I'm working for the office of the president.

Doodzki: I see.

Audrey: What brings you here back in the US?

Doodzki: Sorry Audrey. It's classified information. I can tell you. But I will have to kill you.

Audrey: You're sounding like a base commander who doesn't want to reveal some secret info.

Doodzki: That's because I am a base commander now Audrey.

Audrey: You a base commander? No way! You're a reckless hotshot fighter pilot. How can you be a base commander all of a sudden?

Doodzki: I was grounded by my former commanding officer. And he personally recommended me to be Azur Lane's base commander.

Audrey: Azur Lane? That man made island base that is between Pearl Harbor and Midway?

Doodzki: Yup that's the one. By the way. How's the admiral doing?

Audrey: Dad is currently being groomed as the governor of Texas. So he's practicing to be a politician.

Doodzki: Well I hope that he wins in the election.

Audrey: You know Doodzki. Like I said earlier. I'm still single and available. I was hoping that you and I can get back together again. After all you have been through two other failed relationships and you lost your 4th girlfriend. Maybe you and I can start all over again.

Doodzki: Sorry Audrey. I have no more plans of entering a relationship again. After I lost Samantha, I've lost that loving feeling.

Maverick's conversation with Audrey made his situation into an awkward moment. Enterprise is looking at the blonde haired woman like a jealous girlfriend. Sec. Metcalf and his wife also seemed annoyed by her presence. The former hotshot fighter pilot is quick to notice that the atmosphere in the restaurant has become tense. He decides to end his conversation with his ex-girlfriend at once.
