Ch. 14 - RTTE 2/2

During a little misunderstanding and understanding and a small confrontation, Hiccup managed to save Queen Mala from getting shot by an arrow, and she immediately declared him her king, exclaiming the man who comes from faraway and saves her from danger in the battlefield will to be her king.

Thus because of this she insisted on riding close to Hiccup and is amazed at the brunette's abilities and the way he cares for the dragons mostly.

A little problem is, Ace is a little irritated at how Mala suddenly calls Hiccup, hers.

"I warned you Hiccup Haddock! I warned you not to betray me!" Mala hollered, her tone cracking, her eyes gazing down at the brunette with eyes that held betrayal.

"Seize them!" The queen ordered, her tribesmen obeying and heading for the dragon riders who stood close to their dragons that are now growling and hissing as soon as they felt their riders threatened, and all dragons and riders getting into a defensive mode. Ace crawled closer to his human, plasma blast readied right at the queen, seeing her sword threatening Hiccup's life.

Before they all engaged into a fight, Hiccup finally snapped, standing in the middle as he hollered the word stop. "You were right, you've been tricked, but look we were tricked too! Viggo used us as a distraction so he could steal your eruptodon but without us knowing!" he begged, "We don't work with the dragon hunters, they're our enemies!" he added.

"And yet our Eruptodon is gone. Our village is in peril from the lava flow and you hold me in front of your night fury." the queen spoke, and Hiccup gazed at his dragon-human with pleading eyes, "Back off bud." the brunette pleaded and Ace sighed, his plasma blast disappearing. Glancing back at the queen, Hiccup continued to speak. "We'll prove it to you. We'll rescue your dragon and bring it back. I'll even leave some of my friends here to help you fight your lava."

"Only your best." the queen demanded.

"Heather's a survivalist. She's dealt with lava before." Heather nodded at Hiccup's suggestion. "And Ruff and Tuff.." Hiccup glanced at the twins, Tuffnut picking up a dart gun and accidentally swallowing a dart tranquilizer, stuck on his throat as he choked while Ruffnut laughed at her brother gasping for air trying to cough out of the tranquilizer. Only Snotlout then came to the rescue and slapped Tuffnut's back harshly, only for the tranquilizer to shoot right at Ruffnut's forehead, both twins falling to the ground and fast asleep.

Chuckling nervously, Hiccup glanced back at Mala. "Aha, let's say they have a lot of experience cleaning up stuff." he explained, however leaving out stuff that the twins aren't the best. Hiccup placed a hand on his chest, giving Mala a genuine smile with his eyebrows slightly furrowed. "You can trust us. I swear it."

Considering the offer, Mala had no choice but to accept. "I accept your offer." however it wasn't that easy. "On one condition." she exclaimed, lowering her weapon to show she's a threat to them no more. "I must travel with you to save our beloved dragon." she declared, hearing her tribesmen gasp at the statement. Tilting his head, Hiccup questioned her intentions, his thoughts that she doesn't fly on dragons. But she simply responded that she'd do anything to save the Great Protector. As she approached Hiccup, she warned him once more, and Hiccup nervously smiled at the threats, nodding at every word.

Ace watched the interaction, upset that he wasn't able to do any action. But at least his human was safe and sound.

As Throk and the others headed down the mountain, Hiccup glared at Snotlout for complaining that she was coming with them. Hearing the bushes move however got them to a defensive stance, and Ace quickly roared, hollering they were dragon hunters, arrows aimed for Hiccup and Mala. "Watch out-!" Mala swatted the arrow using her sword, and Hiccup ordered his dragon riders to get to the air while he and Ace stood still on the ground. "A few more arrows aimed at the damned queen!" Ace hollered and Hiccup pulled out his pipe, getting in front of Mala and blocked the arrows. Shocked by the action, Mala placed a hand on Hiccup's shoulder, smiling at her savior and headed for the bushes, fighting the remaining dragon hunters hidden behind and dragged the defeated and unarmed men out of their spots.
