Mias POV:
Daniel limped his way from the flaming car to the ambulance, and it was at that moment that I pushed my way out of the garage and around the back of the paddock. I knew that the ambulance would keep going, they'd not wait for me, not even let me know if my brother was okay.

The race had restarted around me, and I was aware that Charles was back in first. I didn't watch, instead, I went to go and sit in the cafe, staring at the empty seat infront of me until someone occupied it two hours later.

He was still in his racing suit, he'd pulled it halfway down so that you could see his fireproofs underneath. It made me angry, just looking at his fireproofs in tact, knowing my brother would've died without his own.

'Mia.'

'It's best we don't talk here. I'll cause a scene and I don't want that to come down on your pretty little win.' I grumbled, getting up and leaving a tip on the table.

'Fucking listen to me.' He growled.

'No. You did that on purpose, didn't you?' I said, narrowing my eyes to watch his every move.

I let out a disbelieving laugh when all he did was stare at me.

'I'm going.'

'It's the only way I could get you to talk to me.' He snapped, clasping my wrist.

'By almost killing my brother?'

'I didn't mean for it to get that bad. I was trying to push him out of the way. I didn't mean for that to happen and you know it.' He said, firmly.

I let go of him and walked away to the McLaren paddock, towards my brothers drivers room, and locked the door. I knew that Charles wouldn't be stupid enough to come inside after what he'd just done to one of their drivers, it would be like feeding himself to the sharks.

Instead, he tried to call me, but I blocked him. I still hadn't heard word on my brother and knew it could be as simple as a burn, or as bad as. Well, bad.

Rapid knocking on Daniel's door snapped me out of my thoughts.

'Mia? Open the fucking door.' Lando shouted, not stopping his knocking for a single second.

I rolled my eyes, standing up and pulling it open, letting him inside. He looked like he'd been crying, but that could've been the sweat. I didn't want to overthink any bad news until I was sure, that's why I was so calm.

I was engulfed into the biggest hug, Lando holding the back of my head for support.

'They've said he's okay. Got a few burns on his hands and a cut on his leg from where it hit the barrier, but he's fine.' He said, hugging me tighter.

'Oh my fucking god.'

'You can breathe, I know how scary it is for you.' He mumbled, referencing my uncle.

I hadn't even thought about him in that moment, and now I felt even guiltier. I started to cry, sitting down on the massaging bed and holding my head in my hands. I'd nearly lost him the way I lost my uncle.

'Hey, calm, please? I don't wanna have to call an ambulance for you.' He said, only half joking as he rubbed at my back.

'I could've lost him.'

'I know, but it's a dangerous sport. Charles didn't mean for that to happen.' He assured me.

'He did.' I snapped.

'Mia that's not fair. He loves Daniel like a brother.' He frowned.

'He told me it was the only way I'd speak to him.' I responded.
