Knew her from the start - Ellie Williams x Femoc

The Journey Begins 

Ellie's POV:

I can not believe that Anastasia Brown is the girl that has to come with us, if I knew that before i would have never agreed to it.

"Come on, I've mapped out the best stop points and if we want to make it to the first one on time we've got to leave now" Anastasia hurries us along. God she's still the same as I remember her, always bossing everyone around, thinking she's better than everyone.

We start to head out on our horses me and Joel on one and Anastasia in front leading the way.

"So uh, how do you guys know each other" Joel asks breaking the silence.

"The QZ." We both answer at the same time.
"I take it you too didn't really get along well?" Joel mumbles to me and i just answer with a short laugh and nod.

" We're about 3 hours away from the first stop, it will be dark by the time we get there because you took so long to get going but we'll be fine" Anastasia says directing that's last part towards me which sounds about right.

We eventually get there and as much as I hate to admit it she was right. It was already dark out.

Joel is cooking some kind of rabbit while everyone just sits their in silence.

"How did you even end up with Tommy? I thought you were going to become a officer and boss everyone around like you love doing so much." I say mocking her. Joel looks up listening into our conversation.

"You know I could ask you the same thing? I thought your plan was to 'change Federal from the inside with your little friend, Riley it was wasn't it?" Anastasia says. I flinch at the mention of Riley.

"Keep her fucking name out of your mouth you know nothing." I yell at her. How dare she, one of theses days i really hope her big mouth gets her in trouble maybe it will humble her, it would do her good.

Joel looks up then at me with a confused expression on his face never hearing that name before. Then when he realises I'm not going to keep talking about it he looks back down and continues to cook while Anastasia let's out a little giggle realising that she pushed a nerve like she always does.

"What have I agreed too?" I hear Joel mumble to himself and I agree.

We sit in silence until the food is ready.
"So Maria told me you were a good shooter i'd that true?" Joel asks the girl

"She probably just told Maria that, lying like she does." I say but in truth I had seen Anastasia's practice shooting in the QZ and well she's not horrible, but I would never tell her that.

"Oh really cause I remember beating you in at every shooting practice or am I remembering incorrectly?" Anastasia says. God could she get anymore cocky.

"Whatever." I mumble which makes her laugh.

We set up our sleeping bags after dinner, Joel then me then Anastasia all in a row.

Joel feel asleep pretty fast he hadn't slept in a while and we were safe out here anyway.

"I'm sorry, for um bring up Riley. I heard what happened whether it was true or not, that's a shitty thing to go through so I'm sorry about that." Anastasia says which takes me by surprise. I've never seen her like this, show any kind of sorry.

"Go to sleep Anastasia."

Anastasia's POV:

I woke up before everyone. I expected it to be more cold in the mornings but it's warm than I thought. Then i felt the weight on my stomach and it made sense now. Ellie's arms fallen around me while we were asleep.

I slowly tried to peel her arms off my stomach, trying now to wake her up. I got up and started to make breakfast. Joel woke up first then followed by Ellie shortly after.

"Come on we better get moving. We don't want a repeat of yesterday. Let's go." I say hurrying mostly Ellie along.
