Genshin Impact Fanfic: A Silent Cry From A Broken Smile

Part I Act I - Segment Encounter

-The story takes place after the rescuing of Lesser Lord Kusanali, the departure of the Selfish Dottore segment and the Traveler venturing into the desert. Two weeks past by, we open on Collei and Tighnari returning to Gandharva Ville after finishing patrol-

"Collei: Master Tighnari, wait up!"
"Tighnari: I told you to catch up Collei, I don't want to keep trying to leave you behind."
"Collei: I-I know... I'm just trying my best to catch up to your speed!"
"Tighnari: Well, you'll get there. Just keep at it okay?"
"Collei: O-Okay...!"

(Collei begins to catch up to Tighnari as the two then returns to Gandharva Ville moments later. Collei then sighs in relaxation as she noticed barking in the distance as Collei then notices Forest Watcher Amir walking with Sag to talk to Tighnari.)

"Amir: Tighnari! Are you in?"
"Tighnari: Hm? Ah, Amir. Is there a problem?"
"Amir: N-No.. Well uh, technically.. yeah. There's some type of complaint going down on Treasure Hoarders attacking sumpter beasts east of Gandharva Ville."
"Tighnari: Again?!.. *sigh* There's not a single day where Treasure Hoarders can't mind their own business, is there? Collei, stay here and I will be back."
"Collei: W-Wait Master Tighnari! I can take care of the Treasure Hoarders!"
"Tighnari: Collei, I appreciate your enthusiastic behavior but I need to prioritize your safety-"
"Collei: I can do it!"
"Tighnari: ..."
"Collei: ...S-Sorry... I shouldn't.. yell out like that.."
"Tighnari: Well. You're a grown lady and I can't keep treating you like a child, even if you are a trainee. Alright Collei, I'll consider this a test. If you can come back without a single scratch or cut on you, I'll say you pass."
"Collei: I-I won't let you down, Master Tighnari!"

(Collei then travels to the area to look for the treasure hoarders and the assaulted sumpter beasts. Collei then notices the four Treasure Hoarders and commands them to stop or she'd force them too which she wishes to avoid. As the Treasure Hoarders would not comply, Collei begins to prepare for combat. Meanwhile at a small port outside Sumeru City lies a medium-sized boat coming into port and departing from the boat were two individuals. One female with her eyes closed, wearing an eye mask and has braided hair with streaks of violet with one tall male with a long beaked mask and a plague-like mask on his right shoulder and both were wearing all white clothing. The eye masked female then walks towards Caravan Ribat as the tall masked male walked towards Gandharva Ville. As time passed, Collei was finished with the Treasure Hoarders but was covered in mud and cuts which Collei sighed as she knew Tighnari would snap at her so she'd quickly use a remedy of the forest to hide her small injuries.)

"Collei: Hopefully Master Tighnari won't see these cuts.. Now what to do about you Treasure Hoarders? Hmm, I'll turn you guys into the Akademiya."

(As Collei then turns the Treasure Hoarders in to the Akademiya, Collei then begins to return to Gandharva Ville herself but notices the ground trembling from an explosion coming from the deserts of Sumeru as Collei then catches a glimpse of smoke coming from Gandharva Ville which seemed harmless at first but the smoke suddenly increases in size which triggered Collei emotionally as she then runs back quickly. Collei then returns to Gandharva Ville and falls to her knees as she began to cry at the massive wildfires erupting on Gandharva Ville as if it was the same dream Collei had before. She then quickly runs to find any survivors in need of assistance but as she goes by, Collei sees nothing but deceased bodies left and right which begins to have her hyperventilate and almost scream as her entire back shivered with a chill as she pauses after hearing a haunting voice float inside her eardrums.) 

"???: Its been far too long, Collei."

(Collei suddenly turns around as her eyes widen out of fear and her bad memories begins reopening in Collei's head as she sees Tighnari being choked to death by Dottore, No. 2 of the Fatui Harbingers. As Collei was too afraid to speak, Dottore continues to talk.)

"Dottore (The Doctor | No. 2 Of The 11 Fatui Harbingers): Tell me Collei, how has Sumeru been treating you? By the way things are for you, I'd say things are going rather well for you."
"Collei (Terrified): L-....le-...Let- him go!"
"Dottore: Hm? You mean Tighnari? Oh... How could I forget, you're a Forest Ranger in training. No wonder you two seem a tad bit similar."
"Tighnari: C-Collei... R-Run..!"
"Collei: W-...Why...?"
"Dottore: Why? Why you ask? Isn't it obvious? You are the reason why, Collei."
"Collei: ...?"
"Dottore: While "I" had no interest experimenting on you anymore, as a scholar, all outdated materials could once again have its uses... And this experiment is one ordered by the original me himself along with the Tsaritsa agreeing to his plan and it requires you. So one way or another..."

(Dottore then without any effort, snaps Tighnari's neck as his lifeless body was dangling in Dottore's hand then was dropped to the ground which broke Collei's mental and emotional state to the point of screaming out of fear then runs for her life. As Collei then quickly leaves the destroyed Gandharva Ville, she'd run into the depths of Avidya Forest but runs into another Dottore segment.)

"Dottore #2: ...You will join the Fatui."
"Collei: Stay away from me!!!"

(As Collei then runs in the opposite direction whenever she went, there was another Dottore segment following her. Suddenly, Collei then tumbles down Gandha Hill which opened three of her small cuts into serious wounds. As Collei then climbs to Sumeru City, she was then pulled aside by three Dottore's as she was screaming for help while her mouth was covered and was also held down as nine Dottore segments appears. As the Selfish Dottore segment walks to the fear and tear-filled Collei he then gives her a ghastly smirk as he meant what he said.)

"Selfish Dottore Segment: Remember this Collei, the real me has asked for you to come with us to Snezhnaya. As much as it pains me to use force, we'll have to drag you with us either you like it or not."

(As the Dottore's then kidnaps Collei and takes her with them to Snezhnaya, the Traveler was in the Eremite desert after saying farewell to Jeht but sensed trouble in the distance. As some days pass, Paimon frantically wakes up the Traveler about a note delivered by Cyno after they were resting in one of the Eremite tents.)

"Paimon: Traveler! Traveler wake up!!
"Traveler: What's wrong Paimon?"
"Paimon: Cyno left us this note last night then vanished!"

(Note: This is an urgent announcement from the Akademiya: "All paths leading into Gandharva Ville and Aaru Village are temporarily suspended until further notice." The Traveler and Paimon quickly rushed to Aaru Village.)
