Mina's POV

"What happened to Budo-Senpai?" I asked, worried seeing him run off.

"I dunno, he probably got food poisoning or something." Juku suggested, nonchalantly continuing to eat his lunch.

"Nah, he probably had to do something and made an excuse to run off." Sho claimed, sighing.

"Budo wouldn't do that, he's probably genuinely sick." I retorted, wondering why Sho would assume the worst of Budo. He's always been a sweet person.

"You know what, I'm gonna go look for him." I quickly finished the remaining food in my bento and left the clubroom.

'Where could he be? Maybe in the medical room.'

I went downstairs and heading to the nurse's office. As I was walking, I could hear two faint voices coming from a nearby room.

That's when I noticed, it was coming from the cooking club.

"Why the hell would anyone go in the cooking club after what happened?" I whispered to myself.

I peaked through the glass part of the door and my eyes widened. Budo-Senpai and Ayano were there.

Ayano was only inches away from him, fixing his hair and then untying his bandana. They both seemed really close, and Budo was staring at her lips.

I could feel my blood boiling, I felt like fire was about to come out of my mouth if I took another breath.

'He lied about being sick and left his food all for HER? Are they dating? What's going on? Why did he have to lie to us when he could've just told us directly?'

A million thoughts ran through my head, I couldn't contain them all.

I tightened my fist, trying to release my anger, and stormed back to the Martial Arts Club.

Was I angry? Absolutely.

But I wasn't going to damage Budo's image, and decided not to tell the club members anything.

After 2nd Period

Taro's POV

I was peacefully reading my book, when I heard another person enter the library.

I ignored it and decided to continue reading. The book was called "Angels In The Rain". I couldn't take my mind off of the characters and the plot, it seemed like one of those books you could read again and again.

I know some people think its cheesy for guys to read romance novels, but I can't help it. They're the sole reason I've been coping with all my issues.

The main love interest, Maruka, seems like such a perfect girl. No wonder she's fictional. The book describes her as blonde with brown eyes, but I like to imagine her with dark, silky hair and piercing grey eyes.

I was lost in my book when I noticed Aishi-Chan in front of me.

'Now that I think about it, I've always imagined Maruka to look like Aishi-Chan. Although I don't really know her and she seems a bit odd, it just seems fitting.'

I was gathering my thoughts when I snapped back to reality and noticed Aishi-Chan was trying to get a book off the top shelf but couldn't reach it.

'I guess I have to help her, huh?'

I sighed, placing my book on the table and getting up from my place.

I came behind her and reached my arm out to the shelf she was going for.

"Which book were you trying to get?" I asked her.

She seemed a bit nervous, but nonetheless replied, "I, uh, Angels In The Rain. I h-heard it's pretty good."

My eyes widened a bit out of happiness, and I proceeded to tell her, "Yeah, it's a pretty good book! I've read a couple times."

"R-really? That's quite reassuring." She replied, smiling at me.

I smiled back, grabbed the book and gave it to her.

"Thank you Senpai!" She bowed, then proceeded to sit opposite to me.

"Ah, no need for the formalities. You can just call me Taro." I replied.

I watched her read the book, and found myself staring at her, watching her reaction on every page.

She seemed to notice and asked me, "Is something wrong?"

I got a bit embarrassed, and replied, "I-It's nothing, sorry, I just wanted to see if you were liking the book."

"O-oh, no worries! I like it so far." She continued reading the book, making me realize I should probably stop focusing on her and get back to reading as well.

After a few minutes, I heard Aishi-Chan whisper,

"God, Chiko's an asshole." Her eyes widened after saying it, then she immediately apologized.

I just chuckled and told her it's fine.

"He just gets worse and worse as the book progresses."

"How can you get worse than this?" She asked, causing me to chuckle again.

I was about to continue reading my book, then I checked the time, causing me to close my book.

"Hey, class is starting in 10 minutes just so you know." I told Aishi-Chan.

"O-oh, thanks. I'll see you soon."  She replied, waving to me.

I waved back and smiled at her, watching her place the bookmark, close the book and put it in her bag.

"Yeah, see you soon." I replied, walking off to class.

'I guess I misjudged her, she seems sweet.'

Sho's POV-

"Hey, Budo where'd you run off to during lunch? You ok?" I asked him, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Uh, yeah, I just ate old food I guess, sorry about that." He replied, not seeming to address the situation any further.

Mina looked at him with an unreadable expression. I tried to ignore it, even though it was obvious she liked him.

"Well, anyways, I wanted to tell you guys something." I said, only to be cut off by Shima.

"You're throwing a birthday party right?" She asked, causing me to get annoyed.

"Yes, but you could've at least let me say it instead of ruining the moment."

She just seemed to laugh at my annoyance, causing me to roll my eyes.

"Well, I've invited a couple people that I know, but I said its okay to bring friends so there's probably going to be a lot of people from this school. It's at my place this Saturday, 6 o' clock."

"Sure." Mina, Budo, Juku and Shima all seemed to reply unanimously.

"You know you could be a bit more enthusiastic about it, but alright." I sighed, smiling at the club members.
