INT. A ROOM - ANYTIME, ANYPLACE
A MAN, 40s, wakes up on the floor of a very clean and bright unassuming room.He sees only white. Everywhere. Where am I?Upon raising his head off the floor his eyes cannot stand the brightness surrounding him. He rubs, and opens and closes his eyes until he can just tolerate the brightness.
The room is sparsely furnished. There is a small white couch in the middle of the room. The walls are blank. There is a window, another door, and a door to the outside. How did I get here?
The man struggles to sit up and notices an OLDER WOMAN, 60s, white hair, dressed in white with a hood that covers the top of her face. She sits on a chair against one of the walls. Her green eyes, emeralds against the white background.
He grabs his head in pain and looks down at himself. He stands as he brushes down his clothes. What am I doing here?
MAN
Hey lady. What am I doing here?WOMAN
Welcome.MAN
Yeah, thanks. Who are you? Why am I here?WOMAN
I'm surprised you don't know. I, myself, cannot answer that question.MAN
(under his breath) What good are you then.He frowns and walks away towards the window. He looks out onto a bleak featureless landscape. There is no vegetation, no roads, nothing.
He walks towards the one door that leads to another room only to discover that he enters the room he was just in. He goes to the woman. What is going on here?
MAN
Listen. Lady. What is this place? I don't know why I'm here.WOMAN
You will soon remember.MAN
What is that supposed to mean??WOMAN
Nothing except what I said. You will remember everything. I WANT you to remember. He lowers his shoulders.
MAN
I'm getting out of here. That's all I know.WOMAN
That's not happening.MAN
Look, you better tell me how to get outta here or---The woman smiles at him.
WOMAN
Or what? What are you going to do? Hurt me? Kill me? That's what you like to do isn't it?MAN
What are you talking about??The man screams.
MAN
Hey! Anyone! Please, is there anyone I can talk to??He turns around and around then slowly slides down a wall and sits on the floor, his knees in front of him.
MAN
Look. This is obviously a mistake. You made a mistake. Why did you bring me here? Did you drug me and kidnap me?WOMAN
I'm not you. I don't do those things. I don't bring anyone here.MAN
Someone had to bring me here! They drugged me! That's why I don't remember!WOMAN
You are not too far off about that. She laughs.
He stands up, goes to the woman, and grabs her by the shoulders and lifts her up against the wall.
MAN
Am I dead? Is this the afterlife or something? He has a hard time keeping her off the floor. He moans.
