Prologue

Abigail hasn't been able to stop thinking about EJ or about what happened between them when they were stuck on Smith Island away from Chad and Sami.

She couldn't believe that they had slept together twice and were very close to doing it again before she stepped it but deep down she didn't want to stop it and she could definitely see that look of hunger and desire for her in his eyes as she was trying so desperately to get his belt off so she could then unbutton and then unzip his pants and pull them down right along with his boxers.

"I've missed you so much. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that. I know that your committed to Sami and that what happened between us didn't mean anything. I also know that you don't return my feelings. How could you when you have everything that you have ever wanted within arms reach. I know that I shouldn't be saying this but........... never mind. It doesn't matter. You've clearly moved on more than once from me ever since you first got here for that summer racing competition."

"I have finally realized that you were just putting up with me because Sami wouldn't give you the time of day since she left on that business trip to Chicago. You were probably missing her like you never have before and you saw me as a distraction. Someone you could seduce with your pretty words and your fake promises. It was fun while it lasted. Sami is a very lucky woman. Tell me something EJ. What is it about your precious Samantha that makes her so irresistible? What does she have that I don't? I mean, what. I'm good enough to sleep with but I'm not good enough to leave your fiancée for."

EJ looks at her not at all surprised by her declaration. He reaches out his hand for her to take.

"Love, first of all. I love you. I don't regret anything that's happened between us the last time we were here. Being here with you the last time was incredible and something that I will never be sorry for. The second is that when Samantha returns from Chicago I plan to end the engagement. I have realized that being with you is where I want to be for the rest of my life. You and the children are my life. As long as I have you I can get through anything. Please tell me that I haven't messed up everything."

Abigail looks up into his eyes as she gently reaches out so she can brush her fingers through his hair.

"You haven't messed up everything. I do want to know if you were serious about loving me and wanting to start a family with me."

EJ smiles down at her as he reaches out cupping both sides of her face.

"I was very serious about that, love. I love you. You have had my heart from the first moment I saw you at the garage. I knew instantly that we were each other's soulmates. Can you forgive me for wasting all that time so that we could get right back here. In case I haven't told you lately. You are still the most beautiful woman in the entire town."

Abigail looks at him as she begins to blush hearing his words.

"I'm very happy that you still think that I'm beautiful after all these years."

EJ leans in stroking her cheek and then her hair.

"I was an absolute idiot for not seeing what has been right in front of me the entire time. I promise you that once I end my engagement to Samantha that you and I will be able to have the life that we have always dreamed of having that's if you still want it."

Abigail smiles up at him.

"Of course, it's what I still want. It's all I have ever wanted. You've just never made me a priority and I get it. You have only ever been in love with her. Sami has always been your first choice. I will never understand why but listen if you're only going to be with me because of you know then maybe we should just stick to an arrangement and when you get tired of it you can let me go and we can move on with our lives."

EJ smiles down at her as he gently brushes a few a strands of her hair behind her ear before gently wrapping his arms around her.

"That you are. All better. I'm never ever letting you go ever again. I promise you that everything is going to be alright. You have my word."

Abigail gives him a smile before she reaches out and returns the hug.
