"Thanks," Ophelia simply stated, gripping the scalpel tightly in her fist.

It was snowing, and it wasn't the soft, pleasant snow that you could catch on your tongue. It was violent. It was cold. It was terrifying.

Iris could barely make out Ophelia's shrouded figure through the fog until she stepped closer.

Ophelia flipped the scalpel around in her hand, then pointed it at Iris, holding it gently but firmly in her hand.

"Why are you thanking me?"

"You saved my life."

With that, Ophelia took the scalpel and drived it deep into Iris's arm, earning a scream from the scientist. She twisted it, then pulled it out. The wound was bleeding severely.

The blood froze.

Ophelia struck again. Iris dodged.

Again. Dodged.

Again. This time, Iris wasn't fast enough, and she was rewarded with the scalpel deep in her stomach. She screamed, then dropped to the ground.

Ophelia stared down at her as Iris's vision got blurry. "Thanks."

Iris closed her eyes.

"Not again.."
