Top-Secret Quarantine Zone for Dangerous Criminals
Location: Unknown5 a.m.
Gemma opened her eyes just as the display showed 5 a.m. Straight away, she saw the dark grey, monotone, perfect ceiling. No air vents, no visible openings, no faults. "How mundane", she thought.
The breakfast was usually served at 9 a.m, so she had time. She got off her bench-like bed, pulled the black sheet over it and went up to the sink. The water was ice-cold, as usual, but that didn't disturb her one bit.She walked up to the register display to scan her retina. "Hello, Gemma. The gym is available, you may enter", confirmed the robotic voice. Gemma didn't react, she just took her towel, black, just like the sheets of the bed, and walked through the iron doorway that appeared in front of her. It wasn't her choice to get up that early, no. It was forbidden for her to enter the gym when there were other prisoners around. The fun part, was that it wasn't because they could hurt her, it was the opposite.
The lights in the gym flickered. Straight away she hung her towel on the hook and went for the treadmill, setting it for the highest possible speed. Ahh, just enough time to think of the way out, if it existed. So she ran for an hour, in deep thought, seeking ideas. None came.
Her pulse indicator rose suddenly, she began sweating, her cheeks vermillion red.
"NOOOO!", she screamed and punched the glowing display. The treadmill shook as the screen split into hundreds of tiny pieces covered in Gemma's blood. She put her head down for a moment, to calm her senses. This was her first panic attack since she arrived in the place. Bad sign. She quickly bandaged her wrists and muttered "Well, no boxing today, I suppose".
