Lin Jinghe

As Jinghe flew through the air gracefully, her eyes set on the faraway horizon, she heard a little sound. She glanced down towards the ground and spotted a dark gray blur with a sparkle of metallic gold. Jinghe smiled to herself softly and continued to fly, her robes fluttering after her in the flapping wind, a white and gold streak in the sky. Mortals who happened to be raising their heads at this moment would only see a flash of black and a flash of white, punctuated by a playful twinkle of gold before they passed.

The dark gray blur grew closer to Jinghe, and Jinghe continued to smile, no sign of fear of the anonymous pursuer. Suddenly, there was a tug on the hem of her robes, and she tumbled from the sky. However, as she fell, suspended in the moment between flying and falling, she felt no fear, no anxiety, no worry, but only absolute trust. She closed her eyes and felt herself caught in a pair of secure arms.

You came. Jinghe thought with a smile.
