Chapter 5. seeing things.

Lexi's POV

" Lexi wake up!" i opened my eyes and saw Carl hovering over me.

" you were screaming in your sleep" he said and i sighed.

" sorry, just a bad dream" i told him and he nodded. he left and i closed my eyes and tried to go back to sleep.

After about an hour of trying to sleep, i finally got up. i changed into some black skinny jeans and a white t-shirt. i laced up my combat boots and left my hair down. i grabbed my gun and knives and walked quietly out of the cell. i guess Beth is a heavy sleeper cause i would've woken her up by now.

i walked out the prison doors and look up at the guard tower. Glenn was on watch but he was mostly watching the front gates. i walked over to the side of the gate and looked into the woods. it started to rain a little when i noticed something behind a tree. it moved and i saw its face. or HIS face. The face that beat me for half of my life.

I thought my father was dead. he IS dead. i watched Daryl kill him myself. I was probably just imagining him. i looked away and than looked back, but now he was standing out in the open. I couldn't help myself anymore. i ran over to the side of the fence where e hole was and undid the rope holding it shut.

when i got it undone,i slide through it and started running towards the woods. i got my gun out when i hit the tree line.

"LEXI" oh no. Glenn saw me. i didn't know what  to do. I ran a little further till i collapsed on the ground and started crying.

"Lexi whats wrong??" Daryl yelled and crouched down next to me.

" we have to stop him..." i cried. he brought me into his arms.

"who?"

"Dad" i said and he sighed.

"Can you take her back to the prison?" Daryl asked someone. i felt a pair of arms wrap around me and help me walk. I looked up and saw Carl. He smiled down a me and i gave him a weak one back.

  When we got back, walked me back to mine and Beth's cell and laid me down.  He was about to leave but then i stopped him.

" Please stay. it took me hours to try to sleep last time and Beth's on baby duty so i have no one to talk to." i said and he nodded. He laid down next me and pulled me close. Before i closed my eyes i noticed the sun was just rising, thats why Beth was working.. i closed my eyes and laid me head on carls chest. instantly, i fell asleep.

Carls POV

When i woke up Lexi was laying next to me. i quietly crawled over her and got off her bed.

I walked into the kitchen and Beth was holding Judith.

"Morning." i said and Beth smirked at me.

" morning to you to lover boy." she giggled. i gave her a confused look.

" i saw you sleeping with Lexi." she told me and my eyes widened.

"  its not like that! she had a breakdown last night and i was just there to comfort her." i said and she nodded.

" you like her though, don't you?" she asked and i shrugged. Lexi walked in and greeted everyone and walked upstairs to Daryl's cell.

" okay maybe but don't tell anyone" i said and Beth nodded and laughed.

thats all i need in a world like this. A crush.
