BETRAYAL

19 9 4

Betrayed once

Betrayed twice

Betrayed thrice

So on and so forth

And here I am gazing and guessing

What did I ever do wrong?

My heart beats like thunder in the night

It pricks like a needle on a spindle wheel

I could not breathe

I could not stand

I could no longer bare the pain

I've been deceived

Your honesty was never true

You deceived my heart

You deceived my innocence

You deceived my trust

So Why?

Why do you have to go this far?

Was I not enough?

Was I not the woman who gave it all to you?

Was I not the person who saved you?

What am I then to you?

A rebound?

                        A replacement?

                                               A reliever of your loss?

A cover of your past?

Or, a bounty to your needs?

Do you ever have a conscience?

Or you are just wild and free?

For doing this?

                       For ruining my being!

I feel so sorry for myself

I PITY MYSELF

and felt stupid for entrusting my hope and love to you.

Because all this time you are a COWARD.

No more, no less
