Two weeks have passed since I found out I was pregnant and me and Nicole were discussing the theme of this years winter formal. Only the biggest event of the year after prom of course. I was excited! Getting all dressed up and dancing is always fun.
"So what are you going to wear? Oh my we need to go shopping!" Nicole squealed with excitement.
"Andrew hasn't even asked me yet." I mumble but it came out as a whisper. I was starting to think that he wasn't going to ask me. Maybe he doesn't want to go.
"But he will!" She gushes as she starts doodling on her notebook. We were waiting in the cafeteria for the other members of the student event committee.
"You don't know that! What if he doesn't want to go Nicole?" I ask straight.
"Then you can go with me!" She replied in a duh tone.
"I am not being a third wheel!" I retort and my good mood suddenly starts to fade.
"He's going to ask you. Don't get all emotional on me. Just watch." She smiles and she has a knowing look on face. The doors to the cafeteria opened and the rest of the committee joined us and we got into a heated debate about which theme we wanted. The guys all wanted to do the haunted zombie theme and the girls all wanted to do either a beach theme or under the sea theme."We are not doing a zombie theme! I want to get dressed up and look nice big like I just rose from the dead!" A girl named Amber shrieked.
"You'll look like you rose from the dead no matter what theme we choose." David spat and Nicole slapped him on the back of the head and I had to bite my tongue to keep myself from laughing.
The arguing went on for another 15 minutes before I snapped.
I slammed my hands on the table and stood up from my seat. Suddenly all eyes were on me.
"We are doing a masquerade! That way you can wear masks. Since we can't seem to settle on one theme we will meet in the middle!" I snapped and everyone thought over the idea and nodded in agreement
"That is perfect!" Nicole squealed and hugged me.
"That actually is a really good idea!" Amber chimed in with a smile.
"Anyone have any objections? If so speak up now or forever hold your peace. I don't want to hear any bitching later." I raised my eyebrows and looked around everyone shook their head no and I was thankful for that.
"So it's settled. Masquerade theme it is. We will start meeting after school tomorrow and start setting everything up. The dance is next Saturday so we only have a week to get everything just right. Now since we are done here I'll see you guys later." I smiled and everything started collecting their things.
"You should be the president of our student committee. You'd be perfect for it." Amber smiled and I looked dumbfounded. Is she serious?
"She has a point. You are always the voice of reason. The one who listens to our arguments and comes up with a solution that makes everyone happy." David answered.
"Well only if everyone else is okay with it. I'll do it." I smile and everyone nods in agreement.
"Well alright then. See you guys tomorrow." I wave and walk over to meet up with Andrew who engulfs me in a huge hug.
"You stink." I wiggle and try to escape his sweaty grasp but he just clings tighter rubbing his sweaty face against my body.
"I just got out of practice and couldn't wait to see you." He wiggles his eyebrows and I smack his shoulder playfully.
"We are at school Thompson." I gasp at what he was implying.
"You can't resist me baby." He whispers in my ear sending chills down my spine and I groan. It's been to long since we've done anything since my incident a month ago.
"No I can't. Which is why we're are in the predicament we are in." I giggle and he kissed me cheek.
"Hey let's get home I have a surprise for you." He smiles and leads me to the car. We get in and start driving to my house.
"Hi honey how was school?" My mom asks as we walk inside.
"It was good. How was your day?" I asked her as she handed me a glass of tea.
"It was good. I have files in my office that need filing if you are up to it." She smiled and I nodded.
"Sure I could use all the money I can get."
"Go get washed up dinner is almost done." She practically pushes us upstairs. I open my door and candles are lit all around the room and rose pedals nearly positioned on the bed making a message out of them that read "winter formal?" I gasped and smiled as I threw myself in Andrews arms.
"Of course I will go with you! I can't believe you finally asked me!" I squealed and called Nicole to tell her that he finally asked me to go.
"Told you!" She said as she giggled.
"Yeah yeah! We are going shopping tomorrow after school so be ready bitch." I joke as I hung up the phone.
