Leo thought this had to be the most true statement ever. He definitely felt like crying now. Maybe it wasn't "manly" to admit, but it was true. It hurt. A lot.
And he knew he loved Amanda. It wasn't just some petty crush. He knew, without a doubt, that he loved her and would do anything for her.
Maybe he shouldn't be saying that now, this early on. But he didn't care. He would shout it on a roof top for the whole town to hear.
It's funny how easy adults dismiss childhood love. They never believe you, or take you seriously, or support you.
But Leo knew. He knew that no matter how much Amanda hurt him, how much heartbreak or pain she caused, that he would love her. After all, you don't get to stop loving someone when they are acting different. When you love someone, its for life.
And that's just how leo wanted it.
