She found him, he found her.
That's how you could describe Betty and James' relationship. They completed each other.
They didn't even know when they became Betty and James, they just did.
Their story started when it was hot and it was summer and school just ended. Betty used to spend her days in her room, listening to music and reading tons of books. You know, when you live in a small city there isn't that much to do during summer. She lived with her mother, they had a great relationship and they talked freely about their problems and worries. Betty sometimes used to walk in the woods near her house to relax and spend a little time by herself, without being worried that her mother could possibly disturb her.
It was during one of these long walks that she saw James for the first time.
Well, it wasn't actually the first time she saw him, after all, they went to school together. But it was the first time that Betty actually looked at him.
His eyes were green as the grass which he was lying on, his soft curls were of a really light brown and freckles were scattered across his face. He was really attractive, if you care about that sort of things. Betty did, a bit.
But the thing she saw first, before all of the curls and freckles, was that he looked so peaceful and relaxed. She decided, then, to go away so she wouldn't have disturbed his moment of relax. She was making her way back to the path, when she tripped on a stupid stick and she fell ridiculously on the ground. The noise she made falling woke up James, who opened his eyes just in time to see a very embarrassed Betty trying to get up unsuccessfully. He got to her and talked with a really nice and comforting voice. "How the hell did you fall this brutally? Are you hurt?" Betty tried to get up covering the pain and shame she was feeling. "I'm okay, thank you." James smiled and pointed at the spot of grass he was lying on before Betty fell. "We could sit there and just talk a little, if you want to."
They sat down and talked for hours.
The sky was beginning to get darker and the air was colder.
Betty said goodbye to James and started to make her way home.
'Well, he was nice.' She thought.
