People say it doesn't exist
Let me add that to the list
twist in my gut
Go to get a haircut
Buy a binder
As a reminder
Even if they don't ever get kinder
I am my own viewfinder
Something I ponder over and over again
Get stared at with a look of disdain
But have to maintain my clear composure
Not looking for public exposure
Out to everyone is too much
Flinch from a simple touch
It's not to be used as some crutch
The you inside
Don't have to hide
Can walk with pride
In my stride
They/them is all I will ever be
See me for me
Not a man or woman
I'm something in between
They say "not trying to be mean.."
Not a machine
We are human beings
