elaine spent the night at the cameron residence; she had picked up a shift at haywards shop that night.
rafe was still asleep when she got up, ellie slipped into her clothes; trying not to wake him up but she stubbed her toe and his eyes flickered open "hey" he said groggily "where you going? it's saturday"
"i've got a shift at haywards" elaine explained "pogue remember?"
"right, i'll probably go golf with top today" he nodded "you want me to come pick you up tonigh on my way home?"
"i'll be at hayward's late" she shrugged "don't wait up" elaine smiled leaning over rafe and kissing him goodbye.
as elaine grabbed my tote bag and headed for the door rafe called for her once more "el!" he began "midsummers is in a few days, you wanna be my date?"
"i dunno rafe" el shrugged "your parents won't want you bringing a pogue"
"my parents love you" he said "come on".
she nodded "alright yeah, i'll come" el smiled "im gonna be late, i'll text you later".
