Josh's POV

Finally. The moment I've been waiting for all week. The time of the party. Max's house is not that far from mine so I just decided to walk. I didn't see Sophie come home from school when I came back. She probably decided to cancel going to the party last minute.

When I arrived at Max's place, hardly anyone was there. Only Justin.

"Hey guys. Need any help with anything?" I asked.

"No, we just finished up everything." Max said.

Justin walked over to the window and said that some of the people from school were starting to arrive. I walked over to where he was standing and saw Sophie and her friends. Sophie's hair was down and it looked curled. She was wearing a crop top and booty shorts. And she looked hot. Not that Sophie wasn't hot before but tonight she's was super hot. Sophie's friends looked nice too but I couldn't take my eyes off of Sophie only. I've never seen Sophie this dolled up before.

Sophie and her friends walked through the door and said hello. Sophie and I both looked at each other and looked away. That was probably the second time Sophie and I actually looked at each other with out killing each other with our looks.

I was just going to the kitchen and then I saw Max walk over to Sophie. I hid behind the wall and spied on them. Both Max and Sophie were laughing and talking about something I couldn't hear.

What was this weird feeling I couldn't shake off. I found myself getting irritated with the way they were laughing and talking.

Hold up. Am I jealous? No. No, I'm not. This is Sophie we're talking about. She irritates me to the bone and I can't stand her. She was a rat, she is a rat and she will always be a rat.

There's no way I'm falling for Sophia. Freaking. Sinclair.

I grabbed a drink from the fridge and went back to the living room. Max and Sophie weren't there anymore.

I sat down on the couch then one of Sophie's friends came up to me. She was a red head and she had green eyes. She was wearing a tank top and trousers. She looked familiar.

"Hey Josh, I'm Hailey. We have English together." Hailey said with a smile.

I knew she looked familiar.

"Hi." I said. I know, I know. That was really dry of me, but I didn't feel like talking to her anyway.

"Do you mind if I sit here?" She pointed to the spot on the couch next to me.

Yes. I did mind.

"No, it's cool. You can sit here." I said.

She sat down and started telling me about herself, I guess. I wasn't really paying attention. All I was thinking about was where Sophie and Max went. Although, that is a stupid question to be asking myself. It's a party. With teenagers. Where else would they be. They're probably making out in Max's room.

The rest of the people started arriving and it soon became packed. I still didn't see Sophie and Max. Hailey was still trying to talk to me, but I still wasn't paying attention. From time to time I'd listen and answer Hailey, but I just couldn't stop thinking about Sophie.

Not because I like her. Let's get that straight. It's because I don't think she knows what she's getting herself into. Max only likes her and wants to date her because she's hot.

She deserves so much better.
